I think the Outstanding Achievement In Drama is going to be a tight race. Grey’s Anatomy had an amazing season, along with Lost and House. 24 also had quite a few shockers along the way in Season 5. I have never seen The Sopranos, so I don’t have much to say about it. I’m interested to see which will come out on top. I hope it will be House. Hugh Laurie and the rest of the cast are amazing.

    INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN COMEDY
Jason Lee (My Name Is Earl) (My pick – he’s so damn funny in this show!)

    INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN DRAMA
    Hugh Laurie (House)
Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) – I can’t pick between these 2. Both are simply amazing in their respective roles.

OUTSTANDING NEW PROGRAM OF THE YEAR
My Name Is Earl (NBC) – Same as above. Can’t pick really. I love them both for different reasons.
    Prison Break (Fox)

    OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN COMEDY
    My Name Is Earl (NBC)
Scrubs (NBC) – I think Scrubs needs it more but I absolutely love both of them!

    OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN DRAMA
    Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)
House (Fox) – I don’t watch 24 or Sopranos and Lost has “lost” it for the majority of this season. But I’d be hard pressed to choose between Grey’s & House!

    PROGRAM OF THE YEAR
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) Without a doubt my pick!

My Name is Earl should win an award for the most-overhyped, overrated sitcom of the year. I guess people are tickled by different things, since I’ve tried watching Earl…and only have a few chuckles (via Jamie Pressly, mainly). Then I’m busting a gut for a half-hour straight with The Office, TV’s true comedy gem.

Grey’s has had some great episodes and moments, although after the bomb-in-the-belly 2-part climax, it became less and less “appointment TV” for me. If I see it, fine. And if not, whatever. LOST, on the other hand, always surprises, shocks, mesmerizes…and has me on the edge of my seat.

To me, that’s what distinguishes a GREAT comedy and a GREAT drama from the also-rans mentioned.

  • Oh yeah,

That’s just what LOST needs. An ego boost.

I really hope it doesn’t win.

LOL Common Sense and I disagree about all the shows he posted about. 😛 I can’t stand The Office but love Earl and Grey’s is definitely appt. tv for me. Yet I lost interest in Lost about mid-season and have been saving it up to watch this summer. *shrug*
