One of the TV addict’s favourite alumni from Bayside High has finally found a respectable gig. According to Michael Ausiello of TVGuide, Mario Lopez, better known as AC Slater will guest star in NIP/TUCK’s upcoming third season (episode 3). Slater, sorry Mario, will guest as an ‘infuriatingly fit’ plastic surgeon that Christian meets at the gym. This TV Addict’s question: Does Slater wear his standard maroon Bayside High wrestling tights to the gym? or was that only a Wrestling team thing?

Star Jones on Larry King
I knew I should avoid it. Like a car wreck on the side of the road, I should just keep driving, ignore the horror on curb. Sure everybody’s talking about it, but seriously, shouldn’t I rise above it? Not get sucked into the cat fight being played out in the media. But as is the case with most car accidents, I couldn’t avoid watching. I had to turn on LARRY KING last night and see what STAR had to say for herself.
I thought STAR held up well to Larry’s barrage of questioning. So well in fact that she may of come across as the winner in the court of public opinion. Star admitted her shameless wedding talk was a mistake, she refused to slam Barbara and seemed genuinely thankful for her time on the show. Make no mistake about it, Star has some brilliant PR advisors on her side. She pulled out all the stops, masterfully navigating the game of ‘Celebrity Interview’. She acted humble, thanked her fans and admitted her past mistakes. She said all the right things on LARRY KING. Whether it’s enough to salvage her career, we’ll have to wait and see.
Of course, the question on this TV addict’s mind is obvious: Now that her 15 minutes of fame are up, how long will it take for STAR to go from promoting Payless Shoes to selling them.
WB to go out with a bang
Before it signs off, the network that gave us Buffy, Felicity, Ephram and Dawson (and Angel, the Camdens etc….) is planning to go out with a bang. The WB will end it’s era on Sunday September 17, 2006 by rebroadcasting the premiere episodes of several of its most popular series. Including BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, FELICITY and DAWSON’S CREEK. As long as we don’t have to sit through THE MOUNTAIN, LIVING WITH FRAN and SAFE HARBOUR, this TV addict is happy!
Sparks Fly on THE VIEW: Barbara vs Star Round 1
Honestly, I never in a million years thought I’d ever find the need to mention THE VIEW on this site. But such public scandal is too juicy to ignore! First Star surprises everyone by unexpectedly announcing that she’s leaving the show (Check out the clip below). Star then goes on to blast Barbar and the View all over town, through numerous different papers and media outlets. The slander goes so far that Star is no longer welcome on the show, and Barbara has to speak up to defend herself and the show the next day.
Sidenote: How scary does Star look? As someone who rarely watches THE VIEW, I can’t believe how much weight Star has lost. It seems unhealthy.
NBC’s THE OFFICE contest
The TV Addict loves it when old school television network executives actually embrace new technology on the internet (rather then fight it – way to go music industry!). Check out this great contest that NBC has created to promote THE OFFICE, TV’s funniest comedy with the exception of SCRUBS and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.
While I’m mentioning THE OFFICE, you can check out two really great episodes tonight from 8:30 – 9:30 (est) on NBC. The Christmas iPod episode, one of my personal favourites, is airing at 8:30pm.
Don’t Blame 7th Heaven
Check out the latest AUSIELLO REPORT, as 7th HEAVEN creator Brenda Hampton defends her show against the enormous (and deserved) EVERWOOD backlash. Click here to read the interview.
More FREE iTunes TV
iTunes is offering up two more TV shows for FREE! You can download the pilot episode of BEYOND THE BREAK (click here to download) and the series premiere of BLADE (click here to download).
As will all free iTunes TV shows and Music, the TV addict recommends you download it right away, as it won’t be free forever!

Have you been dying for that first look at some of NBC’s most exciting fall shows? Are you crouched in the fetal position, anxiously awaiting the fall season to start? Well here are some clips to hold you over.
Check out the 6 minute UpFront Preview of one of the TV addict’s most anticipated shows – the Sorkin penned, Matthew Perry vehicle, STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP. [click here]
Clips of NBC’s fall shows are now available online at nbcfirstlook.com. There are great clips of STUDIO 60, 30 ROCK, HEROES and more.
While this isn’t actually a ‘preview’, head on over to ew.com to check out a really funny video of THE OFFICE’S Dwight (Rainn Wilson) as he takes part in a hysterical EW photo shoot
THE OC on its last legs?
It seems like one less cast member wasn’t the only thing cut down from the upcoming fourth season of THE OC. FOX confirmed Wednesday that it has ordered only 16 episodes of THE OC for the 06/07 season. A standard order for an hour-long network drama is usually 22 episodes. The fourth season is scheduled to start on November 2 (after FOX’s baseball commitment is over).
The shorter workload isn’t the only thing that will be different about the upcoming season. Aside from Marissa being killed off, the rest of the gang is off to college and Caitlin is returning to live with Julie Cooper/Nicol. It will be interesting to see if THE OC can weather the storm of bad publicity and poor stories that plagued the show in its third season.
VERONICA MARS at Comic Con
So an email pops into my email box, and at first glance, all I see is VERONICA MARS at Comic…. Immediatly my reaction is ‘awesome’. A VERONICA MARS comic is such a great idea, and may definitely keep the fans satisfied until the season premiere.
Okay, before fans go nuts, let me post what the email actually said: VERONICA MARS – 2006 Comic Con. According to the WB PR Dept, VM’s creator Rob Thomas, along with stars Kristin Bell (Veronica), Jason Dohring (Logan), Enrico Colantoni (Keith, Veronica’s Dad), Francis Capra (Weevil, isn’t he supposed to be in jail?), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas) and Michael Muhney (Sheriff Lamb) all will be in attendance for a VERONICA MARS Q&A panel at Comic Con on Saturday July 22nd in San Diego. The panel will be moderated by TVGUIDE.com’s Dan Manu (which in this TVaddict’s opinion, is reason enough to attend!). The session takes place between 4:30 to 5:30pm with an autograph signing to follow.
While it’s not confirmed, theTVaddict may be actually attending the convention. I’ll keep you all posted!
