This Week on TV

15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! 15 Days! Can you tell I’m excited? 😉

FOOTBALL! I can’t believe the season is beginning! That’s how we start off This Week on TV. Sunday, NBC is airing the NFL Preseason Football Oakland Raiders vs Philadelphia Eagles game. Along with new episodes of The 4400, where Tom and Diana uncover a shocking conspiracy, and The Dead Zone, the new show Three Moons Over Milford starts tonight on ABC Family. Here’s what ABCFamily.com says about Three Moons: “Ever since a meteor blew apart the moon, the people of Milford have been acting a little… different. Then again, what would you do if this could be your last day on Earth?” It should be a great light-hearted show. Big Brother: All-Stars is also new on CBS, with 2 house guests nominated for eviction and a new Head of Household is revealed! Celebrity Fit Club & Flavor of Love start their new seasons on VH1, along with new episodes of Deadwood, Entourage & Lucky Louie (HBO), Mind of Mencia & Reno 911 (Comedy Central), The Simple Life (E!) and Dane Cook’s Tourgasm 1st season finale on HBO as well.

Monday, the field is narrowed down again on new episodes of Treasure Hunters (haha I read someone say it was the geek’s version of The Amazing Race. I love that description!) and Hell’s Kitchen, where Ramsay puts the remaining 3 chefs to work at the front of the kitchen to test their leadership skills. You can also see a new episode of One Ocean View on ABC (although I’ve heard it’s pitifully awful and won’t last long, so don’t get attached!). The Closer and Saved are new as well, along with Kyle XY, where Nicole becomes closer to connecting Kyle to a murder, and Falcon Beach, where Jason injures his knee and Adrian’s wife shows up unexpectedly. Tabloid Wars on Bravo is also new, titled Babysitter, where the reporters investigate a gruesome story in NYC. If you don’t have USA or haven’t seen the new show Psych, check out the repeat of Spelling Bee on NBC tonight as well! If you are a fan of Reba McEntire, her self-titled comedy Reba starts its cable run series premiere on Lifetime. If you are a fan of KISS, catch the 1 hour series premiere of Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels on A&E. (Blech! lol) Whew! Busy Monday!!

Tuesday begins with new eps of reality shows Big Brother: All-Stars and Rock Star: Supernova, Workout (on Bravo), Queer Eye & Last Comic Standing. Along with the 2 regular comics, 2 comics from the online competition come on and perform! Theo Von (from umm, Road Rules maybe? Some reality show like that!) and my favorite, Josh Wolf won the 2 coveted spots online. Rescue Me is new tonight and titled Retards. lol Tommy visits Janet to discuss her pregnancy and Teddy gets conjugal visits. One of the summer’s best new shows, Eureka, is new tonight as well. Carter investigates Spencer’s alleged abduction and Eureka’s funding may be in jeopardy. Plus, don’t forget to catch the next ep of Dead Like Me on SciFi, too!

Wednesday is another night of reality. The finale of Last Comic Standing is on with Jay Mohr & previous LCS winners. (Jay Mohr deserves to be there, as does last season’s winner, since NBC dropped them the week of the finale! lol) You can also check out the Wildcard show of America’s Got Talent where acts eliminated in the semifinals compete for the 9th & 10th spots in the finale. Both are 90 minutes tonight, so set your schedule accordingly. Part of 1 of 2 of the So You Think You Can Dance finale is tonight, along with a new episode of Rock Star: Supernova, 30 Days & Project Runway.

Thursday features another game of the NFL Preseason Football with the Indianapolis Colts vs St. Louis Rams. Then find out who captures the last 2 spots on America’s Got Talent and watch a new ep of Windfall, where an accident reveals Nina and Cameron’s secret. Oops! Catch an eviction on Big Brother: All-Stars, a new ep of Who Wants to Be a Superhero and one of the best comedies of the summer, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Even their titles are great! This week is Charlie Goes America All Over Everybody’s Ass, where a debate on people’s rights leads Mac and Dennis to run Paddy’s with no rules or restrictions.

End the week on Friday on a high note with ANOTHER NFL Preseason Football game between the New England Patriots & Atlanta Falcons. Plus Monk, Psych, Stargate SG-1, where SG-1 tries to control a rash of brutal attacks by a savage alien creature, & Stargate Atlantis, where a reference in the Atlantis database leads the team to a thriving civilization. (Boy, both those descriptions could go with A LOT of the SG-1 & Atlantis episodes, couldn’t they? LOL)

Next week, I’m going to write up my thoughts on the coming tv season and talk about my full schedule & full DVRs, but for now, get a preview of my neat schedule here:

Fall Schedule Small

Have a great week and enjoy the last bit of summer before kids go back to school!

Thanks for this weeks listings, I’m watching pretty much everything on there except the reality television.

Your Fall Schedule looks as jam-packed full as mine is. You have holes where I don’t, and vice-versa, so we seem to both have a pretty busy season ahead of us.

Just a question though, is there a NEW Fall show that you don’t have set to watch? I’m not an expert but it seems you have every single one of them, except 30 Rock, I noticed. I know it’s easy to record them all, but do you get attached to TV that easily, because new shows get cancelled so easily nowadays, and you’re watching them all. Just wandering!

I probably won’t watch Studio 60 either but I may give it a chance because I LOVE Matthew Perry and Amanda Peet. But I hate the concept of Studio 60 & 30 Rock. I HATE SNL. lol Other than that, I generally watch almost all new shows out in the fall just to see what they are like. I know going in that some, if not most, will be cancelled. 🙁

This week, I’ll put out a schedule like that with ALL shows listed, not just the ones I am going to watch, along with the excel file of a blank schedule, so people can use it or print it off to use with their own info (like time zones, order of channels, whatever). 🙂

Oh I see. I’m not a fan of SNL either. I find it NOT funny most of the time. I have Studio 60 on my list, and was thinking about adding 30 Rock. I just went over my list for the last time before the season and added a few things, then looked, and I’ve added every new show, except Duets, because I’m not a big fan of reality, on my schedule, so I’m now really in the same boat you are.

Good to hear your going to talk about all shows, and that you’re posting that table, it will help since my one on paper gets changed so much.

    Chris

  • You don’t have to be a fan of SNL to enjoy Studio 60 – you just have to enjoy smart funny well written and acted TV. The pilot for STUDIO 60 is fantastic and definitely worth checking out. From the small preview I’ve seen of 30 ROCK, I’ll be watching that as well – I love Tina Fey.

That’s good to hear. Thanks for all you put in to this site theTVaddict!

    Chris

  • Thanks for the kind words, and as long as you keep visiting, I’ll keep posting 🙂

  • Chris

Well, I’m sure I will. I enjoy finding people who watch the same shows I do, how ever much of a plethora that might be. I’d be interested in seeing your schedule for the Fall Season TVaddict, will you be posting it soon?

    Chris

  • As we get closer to the Fall Season (considering Prison Break premieres on August 21), which is fast approaching.. theTVaddict.com will feature a plethora of previews as well as my personal schedule! While it’s jammed packed, it’s no where as packed as Jenny’s – how does she do it?

  • Chris

haha That’s what I want to know. I have two Tivos, and can only watch 4 hours a night at the most…she has 5. 🙁

    Chris

  • Jenny! I absolutely have the same type of schedule set up, and I have it printed out and ready to go for the fall season. I cannot wait! 🙂

  • Jenny

lol I work from home and I have a VCR. I also have an 8 year old, so I can’t watch very many shows live. I have to record everything. lol I’m also a night owl, so I usually am up til 2 or 3 in the morning. So I tend to watch stuff from about 10pm to 1 or 2am then what I don’t watch, I’ll watch the next day while my son is at school. 🙂

That’s how! Better to watch that stuff than soap operas during the day. 😉
