MUST SEE TV Returns to NBC

Finally, some positive press for NBC. Starting November 30, SCRUBS and 30 ROCK will be joining THE OFFICE and MY NAME IS EARL as part of a two-hour comedy block on Thursday nights.

In an announcement this morning, NBC President kevin Reilly said “We are excited about the prospect of two-hours of top-notch comedy on Thursday nights, which includes the return of ‘Scrubs,’ We will stay on-brand with the best comedy block on television, which will position us for the future on the night.”

Beginning November 30, NBC’s Thursday-night lineup will be “My Name Is Earl” (8-8:30 p.m. ET); “The Office” (8:30-9 p.m. ET); “Scrubs” (9-9:30 p.m. ET); and “30 Rock” (9:30-10 p.m. ET). “ER” will continue at 10-11 p.m. (ET).

Was it you, TV Addict, who suggested this very lineup for NBC? I know I’ve read it suggested somewhere this past week, but can’t recall where. Anyway, it makes for a very nice comedy lineup…one that certainly rivals CBS’s Monday shows. They’d sure better get on the stick at “30 Rock” and start playing to their strengths…one of which is Rachel Dratch!!! Are you listening, Mr. Zucker? Take a memo.

As a side note, I still won’t be watching NBC from 9-10…Supernatural blows both of those comedies away. But I’ll catch them in reruns, perhaps, if I’m bored stiff. Still…any move that gets the Suitcase show off a night is a step in the right direction.

I am thrilled to see the return of Dr. Acula and the gang on Scrubs……….i wish it were paired with The Office, as that would certainly make for one funny hour of TV. For some reason, I have never understood why people enjoy My Name is Earl, despite what appears to be my undying affection for Jason Lee, much to the chagrin of Mr. Janice 1997. Oh well – up with Mallrats!
