My two cents and I am posting this anywhere I find this discussion. Who knows, maybe some of the decision makers actually track public opininon. Here's mine. So typical, assemble a talented cast, hire writers who can wrap humor, depth and relevance together to present three dimensional characters intelligently, give it half a season to become the next big thing and when it doesn't spread like a Santa Ana wildfire, replace it with anything that will appeal to the lowest common denominator. As if there could not be a worse show in NBC's lineup to make room for a new action series with such positive story lines and characters for the youth of America to glorify and emulate. We all realize that this is a corporate bottom line decision but how low will you sink before you have absolutely no self respect left for it to hit home that you have a responsibility to provide a modicum of intelligent thought provoking programming with the abundance of dreck you broadcast day and night. If you need evidence of your contribution to the illiteracy of the American populace, surf the net for blogs and comments on pop culture if you haven't already done so. There are people in this country who can't even put together an intelligible sentence and yet have the time to gossip on line about any pop icon that pushes their buttons but can't find the time to learn how to speak or write intelligibly. Well, I know this isn't going to make any difference but at least we have a forum in which to vent our frustration.

Good. Now maybe Sorkin can use this time to figure out how to make a less pretentious show that isn't quite as annoying. Maybe that'll win him some viewers.

30 Rock and studio 60 are both quality shows, I belive that they will return. Alec Baldwin just won and Golden Globe and a Sag so i think they will give them one more season to prove them!!

I'm sorry, but I hope NBC never brings Studio 60 or 30 Rock back. Neither is worth the cost of a 30-second commercial, IMO. Then again, Scrubs is about the dumbest show I've ever seen -- and it's a hit, too. Anyway, quality TV = Heroes. Bad moral character shown in a way that humorizes and rewards it = 60 this and 30 that. Sorry fellas, but character counts -- and neither of those two shows offer one single character who actually has truly moral character. Americans are tired of seeing devious people treated like heroes, so they're turning off their sets and doing something else. TVAddict, you're always on the job -- and seem to have the inside scoop. Pass this info back upline. THANKS!

I really don't think Studio 60 is in any danger of not airing those final episodes. I believe the reason that the date is "to be determined" is because NBC has no idea how "The Black Donellys" will do. If the show tanks, then Studio 60 is going to be brought back much sooner than expected.
However, with its lack of critical praise as of late, I think it's going to get passed up for a second season in favor of Friday Night Lights. You have to figure that Studio 60 had a lot of people see it when it premiered and they all turned away from it. FNL just needs to gain viewers and when it does, they're likely to stick around.

As for 30 Rock, I feel that NBC will stick with it (the Alec Baldwin awards/star power doesn't hurt). The Andy Barker replacement is probably filler for when the show would otherwise be in reruns. Plus, at least NBC isn't leaving its pilots eternally on the backburner, especially since Andy Barker is fairly promising quality-wise. ABC should take note of this when it comes to deciding when "Traveler" is going finally air.
