Through with CW on Tuesdays?

Historically, my Tuesday nights have revolved around new episodes of either GILMORE GIRLS and VERONICA MARS. But since Gilmore’s been in repeat mode and Veronica was unceremoniously replaced by a bunch of PussyCat Dolls — like any good TV addict, I found myself in search of a new fix.

Surprisingly, that fix is FOX as I’ve lately found myself hooked on AMERICAN IDOL and HOUSE. There’s something comforting about knowing exactly what you’re getting between the hours of eight and ten on Tuesday night. More specifically, no disappointing plot-lines like ‘April’ and ‘Christopher’ to ruin my night.

With IDOL we get to watch amateur singers strive for fifteen minutes of fame while HOUSE never fails to deliver interesting and suspenseful stories wrapped up nicely in forty-four minutes. Combined, both shows deliver two hours of entertainment and more importantly provide us with two of television’s most compelling characters — Dr. House and Simon Cowell respectively. (How many of you were waiting for me to say Sanjaya?)

When GILMORE GIRLS and VERONICA MARS finally return with new episodes, the CW will have bigger issues to deal with than simply wrapping up their seasons (or is it series?) properly. They’ll have to entice this TV addict, and millions others to return to the network that decided to replace our beloved blond-haired detective with scantily clad ‘musicians’. Dawn Ostroff, were the PUSSYCAT DOLLS worth it?

you sort of degrade your own point, tv addict! just say no to American Idol!!!!

we need to support our cw tuesday (especially Veronica!) or we’re going to end up with ALL shows like pussycat dolls and american idol.

GG’s – i have say while i will watch the last few episodes after so many weeks of repeats i don’t really care what happens now. This season has been rocky at best and I can’t see it ending any better. BUT American Idol… noooooo… a good book will always win out over that one.

I don’t watch anything on Tuesday night now. Maybe that makes me a former tv addict? lol tim wilkins: college virgin http://www.theaccent.org/home

I’ll be watching NBC and L&0: Criminal Intent. Why? Because this season of Veronica Mars has been one big snoozefest. Veronica isn’t someone I want to root for, much less see on a weekly basis. The characters I loved, like Logan and Weevil, are mere shadows of their former selves. The only reason I watched VM last season was those two characters. I certainly didn’t want to see Veronica solve the bus mystery, when it didn’t seem to concern her in the first place. Oh, well…sorry, you’ve had to move on to another show, but House won’t disappoint.

And PussyCatDolls isn’t a bad show. It’s entertaining. No different than AI. It’s all reality TV.

Well I personally love both Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars and will happily start tuning into the CW again! But I totally get what you are saying TVaddict. I mean if I didn’t go online all the time (and talk about GG and VM) I probably wouldn’t know when they returned nor would I be as excited about their return. Anyway I’m counting down the days until April 17th (and of course May 1st!)

I’m excited for Veronica’s return! I honestly don’t understand the problem people have with Season 3, or Season 2 for that matter. It’s still one of the best shows on TV. The only awful storylines they’ve featured this year are the ones between Veronica and Logan. The mysteries, Piz, Mac, Parker, Keith, are all still great.

Hopefully AI won’t feel the need to expand to two hours on any Tuesday.

I agree with Josh. Yeah, the stories might not be as good as they were in the first season, but it’s still one of the best shows on TV. And V ROCKS!!! Leave her alone. I personally enjoyed the bus mystery, the hearst rapist was lame, but then went straight to the dean’s murder which was really great!

i dont think that that makes much sense considering AI and pussycat dolls are both reality shows. i am a dedicated vm fan and can not see myself switching over to another channel to watch some stupid reality show that may be slightly enertaining just because there is nothing else on. going from house or AI from VM is like going three steps below a standard. although those shows are much more popular, doesnt mean that they are good. it will not be hard for me to watch the cw when vm finally comes back on MAY 1st. i do agree however that the cw made a stupid decision when pulling vm for some stupid pussycat dolls.
