1. Luke. No question. An all around good guy. Christopher was nice guy, but Luke was Rory’s true father, and, I believe, was meant to be with Lorelai.

2. JESS. Smart, brash, and well read he, unlike Logan, was not a corrupting force in Rory’s life. Before the two were an item Rory was a unique, somewhat dark, but still interesting feminine co-lead. Seasons 6 and 7 saw her transform into a person that in no way resembled the Rory of old.

8. Last Week Fights, This Week Tights (Season 4). PERFECTION! A Rennaisance themed wedding, a touching moment between Jess and Luke, and Luke finally asks Lorelai out. Having just watched the final episode I can only say that I wished it had captured the sentiment of this touching episode.

2.Jess – Dean was alright but he didn’t understand her the way Jess did, and Logan showed his wellspring of maturity when he failed at that business venture…..b/c going to Vegas makes SO much sense!

3. Stars Hollow Dance-A-Thon indeedy….something to be said for episodes where the entire cast is seen all at once!

4. Opening Kirk’s was brilliant….way too funny and the way he copied out and tricked out Luke’s when he’s the SOLE reason (for his diner being under construction) was hilarious!

5. Luke’s …again you said the coffee is enough to feed a small columbian village….would Westin’s be able to? Would it even know where columbia IS?

6. Mrs. Kim and that store of hers…..don’t cha ever wonder why the store was so full of stuff? Maybe er b/c in the 7 yrs she’s there, nothing was actually being sold! You break it! You buy it! Umm..guess nothing really broke!….

7. Lane. This was hard b/c while I loved Paris she’s well truly centered in her own needs didn’t think much of Rory’s. Lane’s the definition of a “true best friend”

8. Finale – loved the send off for Rory loved that Luke & Lorelai finally ended up back together! OK that was too easy……..then it would have to be ‘But I”m A Gilmore!.”…..that Logan family a piece of WORK! Honoria aside?

8. Too many to choose from, but “Kiss and Tell” and “Rory’s Dance” both stand out as especially sweet to revisit.

Lorelai marrying the deadbeat father of her child really tainted the character for me. Chris sucked the life and joy out of this show for more than half this last precious season. David Rosenthal couldn’t write this show properly to save his life and even though ASP tanked it on her way out the door, Rosenthal did not have to have Chris and Lorelai marry – it made her seem desperate and pathetic. Thankfully, she saw the light and went with the man who has always been there for her and Rory.
Best part of the finale was there was absolutely no mention of Chris – none. Nothing from Rory about wanting to spend even one minute of her last free time with her deadbeat dad. Phew. And, also a plus, was no Logan. How selfish does a man have to be to propose to someone without having told her that he had alrelady accepted a job in SF and that he had already planned out her life. Again, Rory dodged a bullet there getting away from the the self-centered controlling guy.
I wasn’t a real fan of any of Rory’s fellows – Dean seemed to get a bit too possessive in that creepy way but if I had to chose, I would say Jess – the version of Jess we saw last year.
I will miss the wonderful characters and the delightful Stars Hollow but gain, Rosenthal just fell flat and I’m glad he won’t have an opportunity to further tank the once incredible quality this show once was.
In the end, I’m just glad Luke is happy to have his girl back – his “I just like to see you happy” was every bit his “I still love you” and I was satisfied with that scene because both of them put more into those few lines than could ever be expected with their tone of voice and expressions – just was too little for me in the end. But, that’s that, I guess.

Luke, because I feel they were meant to be together. Luke was a father to Rory when Chris wasn’t there for her or Lor. He did push Lor away with the April thing. He wasn’t honest with her after he said they needed to be.

Chris understands the world that Lor comes from. Lor was braver when they were young in running away from everything to raise her child the way she wanted to; and Chris didn’t follow and to help. He wasn’t a good father to Rory; and he knows that; and tried to make amends for it. He also pushed Lor into a marriage that she wasn’t ready for and didn’t want to do without Rory there to see it.

I would probably say Luke; even though I think Chris is HOT! (Those eyes kill me!)
