Who knew JERICHO had so many dedicated and vocal fans? In the few days since CBS announced their new fall schedule (which didn’t include JERICHO), we at have been inundated with emails about the series abrupt cancellation. Turns out we’re not the only ones.

In an usual move, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler took the opportunity to speak to fans directly on the official CBS JERICHO Message Board:

We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show — both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too.

Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.

Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment

Having fallen victim to the network axe more times than we care to remember (EVERWOOD, FIREFLY, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT to name a few), we at appreciate a great fan campaign. So in an effort to do our part, we thought we’d take this opportunity to link to a few sites where you can help out the cause.

Now they know how us INVASION fans felt. High and dry.

  • Josh

I’d really like to see something good come from this. I don’t know what the chances are, but Jericho deserves to return.

  • Emily

I’m struggling with Jericho’s cancellation. I love the show and would like some kind of satisfying resolution. But, for me, they killed the show when they killed Johnston. Gerald McRaney was definitely the heart of the show. I don’t think I’ll care much about the show anymore without him. The writers would have to try really hard to catch my interest again. But I’m rooting for fans to get something out of this petition anyway.

  • Rachel

I also want Jericho back. No matter what. It is a great show, very thought provoking and action packed. I hope CBS will reconsider. I have signed the petition encourage all of you who love Jericho to contact CBS if possible. We must be heard. We want to save our show

  • K.S.

If you can, order nuts from Nutsonline to have them sent to the CBS offices – so far there are 1000 lbs of nuts being sent there over the next week. Show CBS how you feel!

  • tara

What sucks is CBS screwed the show by moving it and having a break, and now they want to just stop it with out an ending. I said it after I lost Invasion and Surface I am not watchin an new TV shows. I broke my rule -now I am losing Jericho and Drive and Studio 60. If your going to cancel it at least have a little repect for your viewers and give us a ending. (ie arrested development and The OC – hey both Fox shows.) I am giving up on the 3 major networks they don’t care about thier cunsumers.

  • drax

To be honest I don’t think Jericho deserves a second chance. It was very badly researched, none of the writers seemed to have a clue about nuclear fallout, the military aspects were a joke and most of the characters were unsympathetic. There’s a lot of recently cancelled shows much more deserving of a second chance, Studio-60, The Black Donnellys and Drive spring to mind.

Fans of the recently cancelled CBS show Jericho are up in arms and taking the internet by storm

    to protest.

Taking a quote from the shows series finale as a rally cry, they have rapidly organized and are

sending tons of nuts, yes nuts, to CBS Executives. They even have the support of an online nut

realtor, who set up a special page for fans to order nuts together in bulk. They

keep a running total of how much has been ordered and shipped!

I think this would make a great segment for you.

If CBS doesn’t bring back Jericho next fall… I’m not bringing back CBS.
How can they give us an amazing show like this, and then rip it away in one season?
Television stinks today! I know the ratings are flawed, and I refuse to believe that the average American really considers American Idol to be the best show on, no matter what it gets for so called “ratings”. Ok it is a good compromise for all ages… but I don’t know anyone who MUST see it every week. Jericho is a MUST TV show… and it deserves a future.
Advertisers think they are targeting the people who buy things, but if they think that ads on TV are successful, they are not…. Who watches or even pays attention to ads anymore? Now that TV is available “on the go” via iPods and the like, or online free of charge a day after it airs, many people don’t even watch the show when it airs. Even ads linked to online content is wasted money…. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I open windows and do other things while the ads run. I only switch back when the content I wanted actually starts to play.
Just for fun, everyone list thier top 10 shows that aired in 06-07?
Now list your top 10 commercials…. Can’t remember most of them can you? The ones you do remember… Do you remember the company behind the ad. I have a two words, that in my opinion is the future of advertising… Product Placement. Networks, work this out now, before it is too late… Advertisers won’t continue to waste money for TV ads NOBODY really watches, and someday they are bound to figure out that we are not paying any attention to them.

I can’t believe, that cbs as “intelligent” as they are supposed to be….made a STUPID, STUPID mistake.

Jericho is a quality show with loyal, dedicated and vocal fans. CBS made a huge mistake in underestimating their audience. SAVE JERICHO!

Jericho is the best show out there! Shame on CBS for cancelling it! NUTS to CBS! All this reality garbage – Jericho was a wonderful program that an entire family could enjoy together! Bring back Jericho or CBS will not be turned back on!

  • Debbie

Networks have made it impossible for anyone to invest time in any new shows. It has to be an immediate, HUGE hit or they pull it. Well, we are done. My family is done. We will support the shows we are already involved in…but no more new shows until the second season. It’s just too upsetting. Jericho was our favorite show this year and we NEVER saw this coming!

  • Dave

It just plain sucks that CBS cancelled Jericho. I won’t be watching anything on CBS from now on!!!

  • Bob

I feel kind of weird BUT hearing the news of JERICHO’s cancelation brought tears to my eyes! Like hearing news of a death in my family.

  • gizelda196
  • Matt

Bring back Jericho. It deserves to run for a long time.

As for the show their replacing it with, do people really want to watch that sort of drivel?!

Jericho is head and shoulders above anything else CBS has on air

  • Ana

Thank you for putting a light to this campaign to save Jericho! If anyone has ever had a show
that has been cancelled, please help us make a statement to these nitwit networks and their decisions what we can and can’t watch. CBS needs to take notice of what their loyal viewers want to watch.
CBS IS OUTNUMBERED and these passionate viewers will have their voices heard! Its about time they
    take notice! NUTS TO CBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When CBS officially pulled Jericho in May, Jeffrey Braverman and legions of fellow dismayed fans decided to literally tell the network how nuts it was to cancel the post-apocalyptic drama. Thanks to Braverman’s “NUTS for Jericho” campaign, CBS offices have been deluged with more than ten tons’ worth of ‘em, and the grassroots campaign shows no signs of letting up.
This afternoon at 5 p.m. EST, join host Gary Baumgarten as he welcomes Braverman to his interactive video chat show, NewsTalk, found exclusively on
Paltalk is pleased to assist Jericho enthusiasts’ awesome efforts to revive their favorite show. Help maintain the fight by logging onto today at 5 p.m. EST, and telling friends and family to do the same!

Jericho must go on! losing jericho on air, is like losing my day job. let us help each other by signing the petition at

  • http://SaveJericho Garianne

This kinda of program was one in a million. Family show, good writing, great cast. And to be yanked was thoughtless. They want to see $$ then they should see what “we” Jericho fans have spent on this campaign. And too bad my advertiser money will be going to other networks until CBS brings Jericho Back for Season 2…….they will understand that bottom line.
