    And no BSG!

Look again, TV Guide has FNL in their best drama category. But they are missing HIMYM in the comedy category which is a shame. Overall I think they did a pretty good job although they left off people like Lauren Graham but I guess she really doesn’t have a chance anyways.

  • Christina

    “who’s dream exactly was this?”

I think you mean “whose dream”.

  • Molly

But Friday Night Lights IS in the Best Drama Category.

  • http://www.thetvaddict.com theTVaddict

Sorry All, I’m obviously blind. FNL was indeed in the Best Drama Category! I’ve modified my complaint to highlight DEXTER! And Christina, thanks for the english lesson, as evident, grammer is often not by strongest suit!

  • NikkiHolly

Lauren Graham definitely deserves an Emmy. I don’t think there’s another actress on earth who could’ve done a better job of playing Lorelai Gilmore.

After the season finale of Supernatural, Jensen Ackles deserves an Emmy too. He is so amazingly talented and is only one of two actors (the other being Jeffery Dean Morgan) who have the ability to make me cry, and it takes a lot to make me cry for fictional characters.

Jeffery Dean Morgan deserves one for best guest star for reasons stated above. I don’t care whether it’s for Grey’s Anatomy or Supernatural (though i’d prefer Supernatural).

Best Drama, Friday Night Lights. I don’t need to give you a reason, do I?

    Alright, i’m done ranting now.

Scrubs and Zach Braff should win best comedy and best comedic actor mos def. I’d say greys or brothers and sisters for best dramatic series. Also katherine heigl and john krasinski are my picks for supporting actress in a drama and supporting in a comedy actor.

  • ewanspotter

Ah, the Emmy Awards. The same shows and actors. Year after year after year after year…

  • chasingclerks

I’m sorry, but where is the love for Veronica Mars and our beloved Kristen Bell TV Guide?

Tim G. As Funny as Kenneth may be, I’ve seen him interviewed in real life. I’m not sure how much ‘acting’ he is doing.

  • Katen

Omg your ballot is nearly perfect!! Love it

  • Aidan

    No Veronica Mars?

  • Dana

Gilmore Girls is submited in the comedy category not drama. So if Lauren Graham and Emily Bishop actually did get nominated it would be in a different category. I believe this show has always deserved emmy wins, at the least nominations, however this season was not one of its best so I think that is why tvguide left it out.

  • http://www.thetvaddict.com theTVaddict

Dana – Unfortunately there was nothing funny about GILMORE GIRLS this season!

  • Faith_Mini

tvguide dream Emmy ballot sucks! How can they not list anybody from SCRUBS and SCRUBS itself as best comedy?! Crazy! I really, really, really hope Scrubs will make it as Best Comedy this year. I would totally lose my faith in the Academy if nobody from the show will get a fair recognition!

  • Tim

lol, you complained that tv guide left of Dexter, then you did too.

  • http://www.thetvaddict.com theTVaddict

Tim, My mistake, I meant to add DEXTER to the drama category, the mistake’s been rectified.

  • cinegod

I think if you’ll look at dates of eligibility, you’ll discover that “Big Love” is probably not really eligible during this Emmy period. I think only the season finale ran during that time and that may not a qualifier make.

  • http://iseemonsters.typepad.com Carrie

The sad thing is, the actual Emmy nominees will look nothing like EITHER of these lists, with a few exceptions. The Emmys really are terrible now.

  • http://www.thetvaddict.com theTVaddict

Carrie… let’s be thankful for small miracles. The cast of EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND can’t get nominated again!

  • Nicole

Seriously man, no Veronica Mars? What the hell?

I like bits and pieces of both lists. For best comedy, I like that TV Guide included Ugly Betty and that TV Addict included Scrubs (since those are the only two comedies I watch). Furthermore, I like the heavy representation from Scrubs and Ugly Betty in the Comedy Actor & Actress categories, especially TV Guide’s mention of UB’s Ana Ortiz.

Among the Drama categories, I agree with a lot of the choices chosen by TV Guide and/or TV Addict. In general, my *dream* ballot would include more representation from House, Boston Legal, Jericho, Men In Trees, and maybe even Prison Break. For example, House deserves a spot among Best Dramas. From Boston Legal, James Spader deserves a Best Lead Actor nod, and the guy that plays Jerry Espensen deserves a Supp. Actor nod. Skeet Ulrich, Lennie James, and Gerald McRaney, all from Jericho, were excellent in their roles. Anne Heche is also excellent in Men In Trees. Even if these “lower-performing” shows couldn’t get real nominations in the primary categories, I wish they could at least get some nods in the writing category, especiallly Boston Legal and Men In Trees.

  • evie

Jericho managed to inspire THOUSANDS of people to mail nuts and send letters, emails, blog and put together the LARGEST protest in tv history. No nod for best drama? Lost is boring and crap and overrated! The writers keep unfolding ‘mystery’ after ‘mystery’ and give no resolution because they are just stringing people along. What happened when Friday Night Lights was on the bubble and they were thinking of cancelling? NOTHING. No one cared.

Ps. Skeet Ulrich is the most naturally gifted actor on tv. Before you even imply that this is not the case: Watch the season finale of Jericho. Gerald McRAney is up for Deadwood and is so deserving of an emmy.
