How did Kyle XY beat Lincoln Heights? It’s the best show on ABC Family today. Way better.

TVaddict, thanks for your response. I’m a stickler for consistency, which is probably why I expect so much from the shows I watch. Can’t believe you’ve never seen the Wire, do yourself a favor and watch. Season 4 was one of the best seasons tv has seen.

David D., I can’t disagree with you there. When it comes to debating Lost or the Wire, I say to each his own as they are the cream of the crop. Though I will say, the Wire does not have the mid-year slumps that Lost suffers from (unless you count season 2 as a whole). Plus the character progression is remarkable in the Wire.

James, I awarded Program of the Year… I wanted to spread the wealth a bit. DEXTER was daring, brilliant and deliciously addictive.

And in terms of THE WIRE, truth be told, I’ve never watched an entire episode. While I’ve heard it’s brilliant. The gritty, realistic portrayal of a drug addicted Baltimore seems somewhat depressing.

I must agree…The Wire is good, HOWEVER…NOT NEARLY AS GOOD AS LOST!
Lost is in a category all in of itself, it is simply put the BEST show on television! (Followed closley by Scrubs, although they are COMPLETELY different!)

And plz, I’d love for someone to state ONE reason that Lost should not win Best Drama!

drax….i have a question 4 u….have u really seen the real life dilemmas that family has seen….what, just beucase they don’t have an alien to call their own their show is crap?….well i agree with shanna that lincoln heights is a great show….so build a freaking bridge & get over it!

I have to agree with the others so far, The Wire is television as art, and as much fun as FNL can be it’s definitely in the etch-a-sketch league.
Shanna, I’ve watched both those shows and Kyle-XY is far and away the superior product, Lincoln Heights was so cheesy at times I could feel my cholesterol rising just watching it.

I have to agree with James about The Wire. Love FNL but The Wire is just hard hitting.

Plus, you obviously have not seen Lincoln Heights if you think that Kyle XY is a better family program. Lincoln Heights is the best show on ABC Family right now.

*How can you say that Friday Night Lights is the best drama and overall program of the year, but not have it win best new program of the year? And to say that Friday Night Lights is a better drama than the Wire makes it clear to me that you never watched the Wire. You can’t even compare the well-drawn out storylines and depth that is prevalent in the Wire to FNL, its in a different league. I love FNL and am glad its coming back, but it wasn’t better than Lost or the Wire, the best two shows on television.*
