To the Fans of JERICHO

JERICHO Fans, it’s official… Congratulations. We at are most definitely impressed. More importantly, your dedication to JERICHO has landed you a new fan in the media. As of this moment (8:15PM on Wednesday June 6), this TV Addict promises to catch up and finish the entire first season of JERICHO prior to the second season premiere. Any show that can generate this must passion is no doubt worth a second look in our books.

In case you missed it, below is the official renewal notice from CBS president Nina Tassler.

Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,” we will need more viewers.

A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.

We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.

At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that “Jericho” will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting “Jericho” on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of “Jericho” in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.

Nina Tassler

President, CBS Entertainment

Time to celebrate people! Now, we have to get all of our fellow tv addicts watching and loving this show as much as I do! the only way to insure that the show lives on beyond the 7 episodes is to watch it and get others to watch it and get others to get others to watch it!
    It’s a good day for television :)

I’m so very very freakin excited! IOver the next month or so, I’m going to rewatch all the eps on and try and get everyone I know to watch. I’m glad Daniel is going to give it another chance. ;)

Grats to all thos who watch Jericho! I too, will give the show a second try!

  • Carrie

This is really amazing. Congratulations to all of the Jericho fans that made this happen! I will definitely reap the rewards of all their hard work. ;)

So the approximately 15 people who actually watched Jericho and their assorted nuts were able to bring back this inferior LOST clone, but Veronica Mars is still cancelled? Wow.

It’s like I’m in bizarro world or something.

You know, I suspect that CBS has just made a critical error. First of all, they’ll show seven episodes and then cancel it again (let’s face it… it’s unlikely that millions of new viewers will “discover” the show and keep it alive), leaving people wildly disappointed. And then they’ll get more nuts. And the next time a show is cancelled, well-organized fan campaigns will do the same thing. I just suspect that they’ve set themselves up to look good to a group of fans… whom they will inevitably disappoing again.

tralfaz, I do agree that CBS has set a dangerous precedent… ie. this is why America does not negotiate with terrorists! Of course that said, way to rain on the JERICHO parade… let’s think positive!

I wonder what they did with all the nuts.

  • theTVaddict

Linda… hopefully donated them to hungry people!
