What are fans so uptight about? I love, love Supernatural…and completely trust the creators to give us a great story every week, with or without the hot new girls (and yes, they ARE hot!!)

And beyond that, I (and several friends) still like Katie’s dad’s music, too. The PF rocks, baby.

I completely agree, hanncoll. I wanna see them in action before I decided whether to hate or slightly dislike them…hahaha. My first instinct was to hate them…but thankfully, she’s dressed decent, which makes me happy, because Dean won’t be all over her right away…

Seriously, at first i did not like the idea of the new cast additions to Supernatural, but Mr. Kripke has very graciously responded to the fan outcry and allayed my misgivings. I’m really looking forward to season three – ‘chicks’ and all.

I still don’t know how to feel about the girls. I think Alona looked much more natural with a weapon in her hand than Katie does. (and that’s saying alot, since I never fancied Jo in the first place). I kind of wished they’d set up Jo with Sam since season two instead (i’m pretty sure the fans would have given a better reaction to that instead of Dean/Jo… considering that the majority of fans seem to accept Sam with females more than Dean with females..).

This is Supernatural, right? So, uh…where are the Winchesters? All I see is a Buffy look-alike.

As the only published promo pictures for that show about the brothers who fight evil…it worries me that there’s no sign of them, only the new kick-ass chick. Who is such a great hunter that she’s holding her knife upside down. Huh.

Yay, finally some hints about season 3. Why isn’t it October 4th yet?

I’m interested to see where they go with the new characters. Hope these girls can act better than the average WB starlet. Katie certainly looks nicely deranged.

Oh Sammy… choked again Since I’ve been spoiled all the way up to episode #6, I am definitely excited for season 3, with each episode appearing even better than the one before it.

As for Ruby, it appears that the lighting and makeup are helping her look a bit older than she originally appeared, so at least she doesn’t “look” like teeny-bopper Jo, per se. But as far as “no trouble fitting in with my favorite demon hunters”… I wouldn’t go so far just yet. I may be quietly hanging out in the Wait-and-See-Lounge currently, but the salt and lighter fluid and ready… just in case And I DO trust in Kripke… I owe him that much. I also trust him to have heard the concerns and tread very carefully when it comes to Jo-fiasco territory. With even more competition Thurs at 9 pm, now is not the time to anger the die-hard fanbase. But if some pretty girls to look at help bring in more viewers, then fine… as long as they show up sparingly.

I’ve gone from loathing the idea of Ruby to being pretty excited to see how she fits in with the SL next year…as long as she’s not there too much that is. I think her character fits into the series much better than Bela does. I like her slightly psychotic expressions…hopefully she’ll stay unhinged and we’ll have no mid season redemption arc for her. Because that would suck out loud.

But…never mind Ruby…Sam’s being choked!!!!! Yayyyyy!!!!

I’m sorry, but these pictures make me laugh. Katie just isn’t pulling off the dangerous kick ass hunter vibe at all. Ugh. I’m really not looking all that forward to this season at all these days. We’ll see how it goes, though.

Not to mention the fact that for the SEASON PREMIERE episode, we get 5 of this character and ONE of Sam. Being choked, no less. It’s a bad omen, I tells ya. lol.

Ok, I just took another quick peek at the pics before I hit the submit button and I’m laughing even harder now. She just looks ridiculous with that gun strapped on her. No, they’re not going to be trying *too* hard with her [/sarcasm]. Oh, look! She’s soooo huntery. Especially with the curled hair. lol. And, yes, on a show of this nature, I’m going to complain about the hair. But, I guess even tough troublemaking hunter chicks gotta take the time to get their hair just so.

I just hope that one day she doesn’t mistakenly grab her grooming supplies instead of her weapons bag. I can see it now. They’re hunkered down fighting off evil and she yells to Sam to toss her a shotgun. He reaches blindly into her duffel bag and throws her whatever his hand finds. She instantly notices the weight difference and looks down and it’s a curling iron. Oh noes!

I agree about the hair. That irks. It may seem petty but she’s a hunter, and, while there are times when Sam and Dean have to neaten up their appearance to work a job, it just bothers me to see her appearing like she spent a lot of time doing her hair, when she’s apparently out on a hunt. LOL.

Show me a clear circumstance where they purposely put more effort into their appearance, like they do with Sam and Dean when they are talking their way in somewhere to get information, and Sam actually looks like he’s combed his hair;)

Seriuosly, this gilr doesn’t make me feel very excited about the show. She’s supposed to be menacing? She looks like a kid having a temper tantrum. OMG, my poor show.

Hehe. The previous comments are quite funny. Ok, I trust Kripke but I just don’t hold out much hope for Ruby. How about the hair in a ponytail and a little less makeup? Even with the knife (it might help if you hold it the right way, Ruby dear) and gun, I don’t believe her as a hunter. Instead I see someone playing “hunter” dress-up. See, I have crazy ideas. I believe that if a person is to be believable as a hunter they should actually look the part. That’s all I have to say about that.

I agree with whomever said this is SUPERNATURAL not Barbie meets Tomb Raider. I trust Kripke…as about as far as I can throw him…or maybe as far as Ruby can throw him. If you think they are not going to push the sexual chemistry then apparently you have never heard of the CW, UPN, or Dawn Ostroff. If you think they are not going to focus on their toys, you’re fooling yourselves. If anything these promos and others floating around should start shining a light on that. I’m all for being hopeful, but this does not boast my confidence. It is almost comical.

If season 3 had reached anywhere near the potential I thought it had, I’d have faith in Kripke. It didn’t, so I don’t. The more I see and read (sides and interviews), the more of a trainwreck I see coming.

All good demon’s hunter should go once day a week to the hairdresser… Ruby goes twice, at least. The outfit is perfect, the cool pose too, but those blond curls perfectly curled make her a kind of Barbie girl.

If there are photos of Sam with Ruby then they aren’t showing up for some reason.

Hey CW! It’s pretty damn hard to show off how badarse your new girl is IF SHE CAN’T EVEN HOLD THE KNIFE WITH THE BLADE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. Jesus. This does not bode well for S3. Hey, is that a curling iron in her holster? No? Might as well be.

Bela might be convincing in her role, but Ruby looks like a recycled Jo. Audiences are supposed to believe this ditzy teen queen is a ruthless, dangerous, experienced demon hunter? Toss out the comic books and get real, Kripke!

The first pic of Ruby is fine for me; she has a blank look in her eyes that works how I pictured Ruby’s character, but in the last two of the pics she looks kind of unsure of herself, like she’s thinking, “This looks tough, right?”. The middle pics of her are just kind of, meh – nothing cringe-worthy for me (except for the salon perfect curls in the second one…), but nothing that truly sticks out either. So I’m hoping when she comes across on screen she’ll be more like the character I’m seeing in the first picture as opposed to the rest. Also I’m disappointed that her hair is still long and hanging…a haircut would have done a lot to edge out her look, IMO, but for crying out loud, at least tie it back! My one definate like, is that at least she’s dressed farily descently (even though she still looks as tiny as ever)…although if those are healed boots in the full-length pic that’s a point against as, IMO, walking in those things are hard enough much less need to fight in them

On a completely different note, remember Krikpe talking about a demon killing sword…do you think that that knife could possibly be it?…

Finally, it won’t matter how good KC is as Ruby if their introduction of her is “Superhunter Ruby here to save the day!”…ugh, someone shoot me NOW!

What the hell is wrong with those SN people? The best quality of this show are its REALISTIC characters. This actress belongs in a hair commercial. The YED failed to destroy the Winchesters, but your casting director will.
Please, SN. Quit shooting yourself in the foot, SN. Have faith in your vision and get off the “Heroes”/”High School Musical” bandwagon. Whether you like it or not, SN is a far too sophisticated and intelligent show for this kind of silliness.
Oh, and by the way Mr. Kripke, if you can’t keep this show on track, hire somebody who can.

you know i started watching this show because it had a great premise, a family out to find the demon that killed their mother, and it went that way for 2 seasons, well now they want to sex it up. and i have to agree that maybe not anytime soon will these 2 girls be love interests but im sure they will end up that way whether we the fans want it or not. i feel that the powers that be feel this is the only way to go with the show. i so disagree! THIS IS A SHOW ABOUT THE WINCHESTERS! two hot guys who drive around in an equally hot car taking care of the things that scare us in the night! and yeah i understand they are guys and need some “fun” but every couple of episodes is enough for me! i watch to see what evil they take care of this week, not what hot babe is going to help them! if the powers that be want hot babes to kill evil then give them their own show and leave supernatural alone! i feel that all thats going to happen is the fans are going to get tired of the girls and leave the show. i know im going to stick with the show until it goes in the direction im thinking it will go into then im gone.

She’s not meant to ‘fit in’ with our favorite demon hunters. She’s meant to be an ANTAGONIST. Antagonists don’t ‘fit in’ with the heroes.

We don’t want her to ‘fit in’ with our boys, in any sense of the term. We want her to make their lives a living hell. And we want Dean and Sam Winchester to be the big, damn heroes.

So WHY do we have 5 pics of the barbie hunter and only one of a REAL hunter??? You’d think these chicks were going to be regulars the way you keep promoting them. They are background fill and that’s it! Shoving them down the fans throats isn’t going to make us like them any better. Give them there own show and leave ours alone!! I want to see the boys in hunting action, not playing with bimbos! After reading the sides for S3, especially ep.6, things are looking pretty sad!

i’m sorry, but i really think that she should be wearing make up. Yeah, so she is a hunter. So is Dean. He still manages to find time to perfectly gel his hair every morning. As long as she doesn’t look like a beauty queen in a dress when she is hunting, I think she’ll be fine.

I really doubt that it would take Dean much time to do his hair. I don’t think anyone’s saying that she shouldn’t wear make up at all. Just don’t have her look like she’s just stepped out of a beauty salon.

Yeah all the pictures show me is a tiny scrawny girl who doesn’t look like she’s holding the knife right and who really doesn’t look like she would stand a chance against any demon. The hair is a liability considering it’s not only long but also not even pulled back. She basically looks like a spoiled brat playing at being a hunter. No thanks.

I feel an urge to respond to a few comments.

First to TC: are we reading the same sides & interviews? Because every single episode so far (up to 3.07) has a great idea, interesting characters (and I’m not talking about Ruby & Bela here) and a few twists that we could not have seen coming this soon. And I won’t mention any details out of respect to our spoiler-phobes. But how can you possibly say it’s a train wreck if you have read those sides?? Each one has elements that I can’t wait to see! And if I read the implication right in 3.05, there appears a way to get rid of Ruby in the future, should the need arise. So I’m really not worried.

Second to so many pointing the finger at Kripke & Co: do you really think that he would set out to destroy his own show? his own vision? his own baby? Especially having experienced JoGate? The man recognizes the importance of the fans and has the humility to admit when something is not working & change it (just listen to the commentary on the DVDs and what he says about the Roadhouse — he presents all the arguments that the fans used to gripe, so the man IS listening!) The introduction of new characters on a weekly basis is a natural progression and a needed plot device. The introduction of hot chicks is an effort to stay competitive and draw in more viewers (probably at the urging of the network). Since the network refuses to move the show out of the time slot of death to give it a decent chance to thrive, and throws only scraps in terms of promotion money, they’re going with the eye candy to draw in that much desired 18-24 male demographic.

The hair & makeup thing: I’m all for realism, but we still have to remember this is TV folks. Subconsciously the audience likes to look at pretty things. Now I’m not saying that Ruby should look like she belongs on Top Model, but it doesn’t hurt that the makeup is at least making her look a little older.

Hey don’t get me wrong… I urged one of the letter-writing efforts so I totally understand all the fears and concerns. But for now cooler heads must prevail. The fandom needs to unite… SUPPORT THE SHOW and LET’S WAIT AND SEE. If things don’t stay true to the Supernatural that we all love, then our voices WILL be heard when the time comes.

Holy Cow! Give the girl a chance, lol OMGoodness – everyone’s getting so worked up about something that will likely work out just fine. Dean and Sam spend a fair amount of time in the make-up chair too – as anyone who’s seen the special features on the S1 DVD set can attest. They look damn fine for all that too. I’m hoping the girl can actually pull it off – it’ll only benefit the show if she can. Though i’m as anxious as everyone else to see how down and dirty she can get. We’ve yet to see a strong female hunter represented on the show – this shouldn’t just appeal to the guys watching. All us girls should be rootin’ for her too. I mean Kripke already promised no romantic entanglments – so just relax. Though Dean being Dean will likely at the very least check her out. I mean he wouldn’t be Dean if he didn’t. Give the girl a chance.

I am referring to how these two are going to fit into the show. There have been some sides that sound pretty cool but it’s how these girls are going to be used is where I’m envisioning a trainwreck.

You’re welcome to have all the faith in Kripke you can muster. I just can’t seem to muster any and I know a lot of people were appeased by his comments in interviews about these girls, but I wasn’t. I know spin control when I read and hear it;). I work around it every day and even have to do a little myself.

Frankly, I’m excited. I’m not surprised the promo pics have the new character in them, because she’s a new character. And I’m looking forward to season three, despite the whining and complaining I’ve heard this summer about Bela and Ruby. I luv supernatural it is the only show i watch and even though i am not jumping up and down for the season premiere i will still watch the show religiouly for my winchesters even though it seems like they won’t be hunting much together in season 3, but wut do i know. Actually i am kind of dreading the premiere of season 3 as much as i miss the boys i don’t like the new change, but i so understand that kripke has to compeat with freakin docters banging in a hospital and csi and now the office.
