Dear Summer Television…

This evening, FOX kicks starts the much anticipated new television season with the premieres of PRISON BREAK and K-VILLE. With that in mind, we at wanted to take a moment to thank you. ‘You’ being summer television, or more specifically — AMC, TNT, FX, HBO, LIFETIME and SHOWTIME.

Thank you for your savvy programming choices. Thanks to original concepts, phenomenal acting and talented writers — summer TV will never be the same. Who knew a group of Army Wives, Mad Men, Polygamists, Morally ambiguous lawyers and Cops could be so entertaining? This summer, will be forever remembered as quite possibly the best summer of television ever.

Thanks again for the memories and more importantly for giving fans a reason to tune in. Can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for us next summer.

You forgot 2 important ones: USA for Burn Notice, Psych, Monk, The 4400, The Dead Zone… And SciFi specifically this summer for Eureka. (& I like some others but they aren’t very popular, so… lol)

  • Linda B.

I was just going to bring up what Jenny just did. The only shows i watched this summer were The 4400, Eureka, and Big Love. You only thanked the channel that aired the latter.

Oops, also forgot i watched Californication. Thanks Showtime. DD is so sexy on that show!

Hahahahah… I knew I’d leave shows out. But sadly, I don’t actually get USA up here in the great white north. Even though I really did want to check out BURN NOTICE. Thank God for DVD.

In addition there were the two Stargate series on early in the summer on the SCiFi network.

As a note, Stargate Atlantis returns Sept. 28.

A thank you and a hearty “hear hear”. Summer tv has NEVER been as good and consistent as it was summer of ’07.

  • CC

    Amen to that!

And yes yes USA network rocks. What about ABC Family and The N? ok maybe thats just me =p
    KYLE XY!

  • ewanspotter

Amen. It was nice to actually have decent summer programing instead of reality TV show after reality TV show.

As others have mentions, kudos to USA and Sci Fi as well.

What about TBS and My Boys? Although mostly for women, it does have a great following. :)

I love Damages and Californication. Army Wives? Cops? Which are these?

And in England The IT Crowd and Jekyll…

    Best regards from Spain

I took the summer to take a break from having tons of shows to watch each week, although I did watch a few on DVD, including 5 seasons of Scrubs.

I’ll join in on thanking USA for another great season of The 4400, as well as Bravo for a much too short season of Kathy Griffin’s My Life On The D-List. I wasn’t completely thrilled by Kyle XY this year, but I did watch it.
