Does anyone else feel that Brothers & Sisters is becoming increasingly awkward the more they focus on the McCallister presidential run? It's just so otherworldly the way they have him running against fictional candidates.

This show tends to get very political. They often bash Republicans, although I'm not sure they ever mention Bush by name. If they have, and if McCain is elected in real life, will they ever mention McCain by name in the show, or will they refer to whichever fictional Republican candidate that will inevitably beat Senator McCallister?

It's also strange to hear them talk about Michigan and Super Tuesday. The real primaries are so publicized that there's a "been there done that" feel to the way the show portrays it. It also seems strange that McCallister has so much time to spend in his home state and with family, when everyone in the real campaigns are hopping planes and going from one speaking engagement to another across multiple states.

I think the show should have ended the campaign subplot back before the real-life primaries started to occur.
