Sharon Gless -- a name it seems I have heard all my life. I was around when TV started, back in l950 or so. I certainly remember the Cagney and Lacy show, and I became a deputy district atorney for Los Angeles County and naturally watched all them cop shows, and I always wondered how someone like Sharon could look like a real cop -- maybe more than any other actress has been able to do. "The Closer" doesn't even try --- and she's fine -=- but it amazes me that it has worked so well with Sharon. Now...the Burn Notice show is nothing but masterfu, pure excellence, and I can sense the way the cast feels about one another, and what great scripts. Haven't missed an episode. I was a kind of spy in the Army back in l953-54, so I just vibrate good feelings about the script, Jeffrey, Bruce, and even Anwar. We LOVE IT AT OUR HOUSE.

Madeline Weston, as presented by Sharon Gless is a wonderful example of an American woman who is smart and empathetic, but is hampered by lack of education and incapable of critical thinking. So she is governed by her instincts of loyalty, love of her children, and by images of women (on TV, in magazines, etc). Her wardrobe, makeup, and costume jewelry are artfully applied, and her acceptance of cigarette smoking as necessary add up to a total personality. It is, to me, an exceedingly difficult role to present, but Ms. Gless has become that person completely in each episode of Burn Notice in which she appears. I applaud her complete understanding of that woman.d

I am a disabled vet from Desert Storm. I grew up addicted to strong lead female characters in shows and movies. I knew I wanted to be capable and independent. But when I became completely disabled and unable to work it was tough to give into needing help from others.

I got a dog to keep me company, this was 7 years ago, when I had to stop working...my dream dog was always an Old English Sheepdog. There was no doubt in my mind that her name would be Cagney. She is everything I needed to keep me from ending my suffering. Not cuddly, not over affectionate, but funny, trustworthy, strong, and obedient.

She is well deserving of that name and is everything that name means to me.

Can't wait to watch more of Sharons great talent!!
