The TV Addict Had the Time of His Life at FOX’s Premiere Party for FRINGE
The TV Addict (right) with EW’s Michael Ausiello
As evidence by this post’s unapologetically cheesy title, theTVaddict.com is putting aside all pretense of professionalism and journalistic integrity for a moment to simply say this. Monday night’s party celebrating the series premiere of FRINGE on FOX was pretty much this TV Addict’s ultimate TV fantasy come true.
On an uber-trendy non-descript loft overlooking the Hudson river, not only did this incredibly lucky TV Addict get the opportunity to meet two people in the world of television journalism whom I hold in the highest regard — Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello [pictured above] and Television Without Pity’s Dan Manu, I got to mix and mingle with a few other faces you may be just slightly familiar with.

Edward James Olmos Talks BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Finale: “It’s brutal what happens to us. Not many of us make it.”
By: Melissa Girimonte
My mission for FanExpo 2008 in Toronto was simple – attend the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA [BSG] Q&A. Those fans lucky enough to get in enjoyed an hour of Edward James Olmos (Admiral William Adama) and Aaron Douglas (Chief Galen Tyrol) as they shared stories from behind the scenes, revealed details on both the final episodes and the upcoming film, and even hinted at who could be revealed as the final Cylon.
Olmos, in his first appearance at a North American sci-fi conference, spoke passionately about his experience on the show. He stated that BSG is “the finest dramatic show in TV history so far.” He expanded on this by explaining how the sci-fi genre allows the exploration of issues that other dramatic series will not go near. Olmos remarked that BSG has not only elevated the entire sci-fi genre, it has also elevated dramatic structure overall. He also paid tribute to the longevity of the series – that 25 years from now, there will be an even better understanding of it, much like 17th Century literature, or films like BLADE RUNNER.

Fall TV Preview 2008: TERMINATOR THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES
When we last left Sarah Connor and Co: The season ended off with a bang [literally!] as Cameron fell victim to an apparent car bomb.
This season: Picks up immediately thereafter, as Sarah, John and Derek deal with the fairly shocking aftermath of what just happened. Turns out, robots and car bombs don’t exactly mix and Summer Glau wasn’t kidding when she told the TV Addict in a recent interview that, “Cameron is more unpredictable then ever.”
In fact, it’s Cameron’s unpredictably that leads to one helluva surprising scene in the season premiere’s opening moments. Something that will both literally and figuratively divide the Conner clan forever. Which is unfortunate, because Sarah, John, Derek and Cameron are really going to need to work together this season. Especially when they come face-to-face with new series regulars Catherine Weaver [Shirley Manson] and the always menacing Cromartie [Garrett Dillahunt].
SMALLVILLE’s Michael Rosenbaum & Laura Vandervoort at FanExpo 2008
By: Melissa Girimonte
A SMALLVILLE Supergirl Spin-off! Michael Rosenbaum’s dream guest star! Lex with Hair! Special correspondent to theTVaddict.com Melissa Girimonte was at this weekend’s Fan Expo 2008 in Toronto Canada and has all the details.
SMALLVILLE fans were treated to a very special Q&A with Michael Rosenbaum and Laura Vandervoort at FanExpo 2008 in Toronto. The lineup began early and snaked around the convention floor as the crowd waited to see Lex Luthor and Supergirl, characters not returning for the series’ eighth season – or so we thought until this panel. From the moment the handsome Rosenbaum, with a full head of hair, and the stunning Vandervoort, looking like a young Charlize Theron, danced on stage, you could tell it was going to be a light, humor-laced Q&A.
Rosenbaum started things off by complimenting hometown girl Vandervoort’s parents, seated in the front row. He mentioned that their daughter worked hard on SMALLVILLE, and looked better than him. He and Vandervoort constantly joked around between questions, sharing stories of pranks on set that he orchestrated. Vandervoort did say that his humor helped with her nervousness in her first major role, although he’d often distract her from her lines and mess up saying her last name.
Since its start, SMALLVILLE has featured guest appearances by actors from the Superman film franchise, including Margot Kidder, Helen Slater and the late Christopher Reeve. Rosenbaum shared that he would have liked to see Gene Hackman, something that he insisted would probably never happen. Rosenbaum emphasized this point with his impression of Hackman on the phone with his agent refusing to do the show.
Fall TV Preview 2008: GREEK
By: Amrie Cunningham [My Take on TV]
When we last left GREEK Row: Casey pulled a Kelly Taylor by choosing ‘herself’ when forced to decide between Evan and Cappie. Which naturally led to a chain reaction of hook-ups as Cappie to chose Rebecca, and Evan, well he ended his few weeks of debauchery by heading directly into the open-arms of a ready and waiting Francie. In the bro-mance department, Rusty and Calvin looked to be on their way back to the friend zone, while Dale’s crusade against Greek life continued.
This Season: The ice will continue to thaw between Rusty and Calvin, while some familiar faces return to Greek row. The always incredible Charisma Carpenter returns this season to help Casey deal with a troublesome pledge. While Lauren Conrad takes a break from her life in THE HILLS to help Casey find herself as she begins to learn that there is life outside of being the arm-candy of Evan and/or Cappie. Also returning will be Ashley’s mysterious flip-fop man who fans may remember from last spring’s Spring Break finale as her possible soul mate.
Why You Should Watch: How about because GREEK is one of last season’s best new shows [and TV Addict personal favorite!] Not only is it funny, full of heart and easy to relate to. It features one of television’s most diverse and interesting casts. And gets serious extra credit for showing TV producers that unlike the original 90210, DAWSON’S CREEK and SAVED BY THE BELL — College doesn’t have to kill a show.
GREEK Returns on August 26, 2008 at 9PM on ABCFamily.
