Jenny’s TV Guide: Tuesday September 9

Tuesday marks the season finales of The Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC Family at 8/7c, Million Dollar Listing on Bravo and How to Look Good Naked on Lifetime, both at 10/9c.

More importantly, tonight also brings with it the 95-minute series premiere of Fringe on FOX at 8/7c. From J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the team behind Star Trek, Mission: Impossible III and Alias, comes a new series that will thrill, terrify and explore the blurring line between the possible and the impossible. When an international flight lands at Boston’s Logan Airport with no signs of life, an unlikely trio FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham; brilliant but formerly institutionalized scientist Walter Bishop; and his scheming, reluctant son Peter uncovers a deadly mystery involving a series of unbelievable events and realizes they may be a part of a larger, more disturbing pattern

Also tonight is the series premiere of Privileged on the CW at 9/8c. Megan Smith (JoAnna Garcia, Reba), a smart and quirky young assistant at a glossy magazine, is fired when her Yale education proves detrimental to getting ahead in the world of tabloid journalism. Her boss (guest star Debi Mazar, Entourage) takes pity on her and arranges an interview with Laurel Limoges (Anne Archer, Fatal Attraction), the elegant and wealthy head of a cosmetics empire based in Palm Beach. Laurel offers Megan a job as a live-in tutor for her twin teen granddaughters, Rose (Lucy Hale, Bionic Woman) and Sage (Ashley Newbrough, The Best Years). The beautiful and rebellious twins are less-than-thrilled with their new tutor, but Megan is determined to win them over as she enjoys the perks of her new job – breathtaking private suite, gorgeous car and live-in chef (Allan Louis, Stomp the Yard). Even the neighbors are fabulous in Palm Beach, and Megan quickly catches the eye of Will Davis (Brian Hallisay, Bones), the wealthy and extremely hot dilettante who lives on the estate next door. Hoping to upset Megan, Sage encourages invites Megan’s estranged sister Lily (Kristina Apgar, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) to Laurel’s fund-raising event, where one of the waiters is Megan’s best friend Charlie (Michael Cassidy, Smallville), who has been secretly in love with her for a long time.

Finally, tonight is the season premiere of Jail on My Network TV at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 9:30/8:30c.
