FOX Announces 2008-2009 Midseason Schedule

Change we can believe in. Not when it comes to FOX’s just released 2008-2009 midseason schedule.

For every bit of good news, like the highly anticipated return of 24 (January 11), the series premiere of the intriguing new Tim Roth vehicle LIE TO ME (January 21) and FRINGE scaring up the coveted post-IDOL time-slot (January 20). There is an equal amount of bad news. Namely the relegation of Joss Whedon’s DOLLHOUSE and TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES to Fridays, the inconspicuous absence of PRISON BREAK and THE CLEVELAND SHOW, not to mention the moving of consistent time-slot winner BONES to the ‘coveted’ Thursday at 8PM slot.

    dollhouse on fridays? really?

    … ok

  • NikkiHolly

Here I thought Fox was gonna change. That they were gonna give Dollhouse a chance. But no. Instead they put them in the timeslot of death. Should’ve known better than to trust a network that would cancel firefly.

  • Alyssa

The worst part about Dollhouse being on Fridays is not that Dollhouse is on Fridays but because its going to bring out all those people who didn’t watch Firefly when it was on television complaining about Fox canceling it for lousy ratings. Fox doesn’t cancel good shows. Fox cancels shows that people don’t watch. Something HAS to go on Fridays and X Files did effing well there.

I can’t believe they are once again messing with Bones. It’s been doing so well lately and with this move it’s going to tank! Arrgh why why!

Here I was starting to worry that Fox actually wanted Dollhouse to be successful.

    Silly Rabbit.

Off topic, but it needs to be said: I think the site should keep the banner of Stephanie Jacobsen. Like forever.

I have to say that I’m not completely surprised Fox buried Dollhouse on Fridays: the re-shoots, shutdowns, and rewrites in the press seems to have preceded the show’s buzz entirely (if there even was one beyond our niche), so their confidence in the show can’t be good to begin with, even with its good pedigree.

I also can’t shake the feeling that this show would do so much better on cable, like its sister net FX, or even Showtime.

    Or I’m completely long.

    R.I.P. Dollhouse.

Where they should put Dollhouse ?
There’s no place for it when American idol is on!
“Lie to me” has bigger chances!

DOLLHOUSE and TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES on Fridays..What the hell is that. I guess they want to get rid of both of them. Killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

OFFTOPIC: I hope we get a new Podcast by Midseason.

Dollhouse? What’s tjhat? I record and watch quite a few shows on FOX: Terminator; House; Fringe for example, and I’ve never even see a promo for anything called Dollhouse.

  • Alison

o mannn now mondays at 8 i have gg, chuck, anddd house that is a problem! o well i guess i can watch one online unless cw or nbc change their schedules! i was actually looking foward to dollhouse =[

  • Josh Emerson

I’m not a Joss Whedon fan and never saw Buffy or anything, but I thought the premise of Dollhouse sounded like one of the best new shows this season. Not sure I’ll bother watching it now, since it looks like Fox is already killing it.

Hey Alyssa,do you work for FOX?

and the X-Files was on when Fox had no hits so they gave it a longer chance to get fans. This was b4 Idol,House, and 24.Plus it was on Sundays for a long time…

    Now go back to work…

I Love the Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles, I have been watching every episode and I am dissapointed that the winter break is taking so long. Come on what does it take to make you people realize that you have a great cast a great writting staff and a great concept. The show is awesome. More action is all I want, more Summer , More Lena and less of Johns girlfriend. She is ok but a bit lame. More robots fighting more stunts. But the story is Great. Get Linda on an episode in a small roll.
