Tonight’s TV Addictions: January 5, 2009

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING:
GOSSIP GIRL (8PM CW)
Blair attempts to join a prestigious ladies club, which you just know ain’t gonna go well. Meanwhile, Jenny returns to school and prepares to take on some of the snobbier girls. Let the games begin!

NEW & NOTABLE:
SUPERSTARS OF DANCE (8PM NBC)
On the off chance that DANCING WITH THE STARS, AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE weren’t enough to quench your dance thirst.

THE BACHELOR (8PM ABC)
We’re completely and totally appalled by the way ABC is using Jason Mesnick’s kid as a “heartwarming” twist to this increasingly unromantic series. Here’s hoping Jason’s son isn’t dragged into this mess, because the only thing more disturbing than a man using this series to find “true love” is the notion of him using his son as a prop.

THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER (8PM ABC Family)
Divorce ain’t cheap, which explains why when Annie asks for one, George moves into the garage to save a little money. While out there, he might wanna look for crap to sell on eBay. Trust us, people will buy anything!

BROMANCE (9PM MTV)
It’s a full-on “broathlon” as the competitors take part in a blow-up doll raft race and… okay, can anyone tell us what this mess has to do with music? To bastardize this network’s own slogan of yore, “I want my MTV… back!”

SEVEN SIGNS OF THE APOCALYPSE (9PM History)
We’re pretty sure BROMANCE is one of them.

ONE TREE HILL (9PM CW)
It ain’t gonna be a great night for Lucas, we suspect. First, Peyton shares with him the results of her medical tests, then he finds out that Julian (boo! hiss!) is keeping yet another secret from him. Meanwhile, Brooke’s looking high and low for Sam. Based on the teen’s past experiences, we’d say stick with the low.

ONE LIFE TO LIVE (10PM SOAPnet)
On Friday’s episode, Marty actually convinced Todd to jump off a building. Tonight, find out where he landed.

TRUE BEAUTY (10PM ABC)
Vanessa Minnillo hosts an eight-episode elimination where the 10 gorgeous contestants don’t realize that they’re secretly being judged on their inner beauty. Begging the question…. there’s an inner beauty now?

  • Seriously Bromance has to be sign six.

And I love Julian on OTH. He’s heckuva a lot better than Pucas.
