It’s sad to see quality scripted shows beaten like this by reality TV over and over. Once they destroy all the real shows, there won’t be any new stars for more Dancing With the Stars!

Castle seems to be doing well. I haven’t started watching it yet, but I’ve got all the episodes saved on my Tivo.

  • Ace

Michael — I would agree with you if it weren’t for the fact that more than half of the “stars” are now from reality TV…

If Chuck could just pull out like another million viewers each week I would feel a little better. But *sigh* it does have a lot of competition. I wish NBC would move it to Tuesdays at 8 or 9. There is NOTHING on then. Stupid American Idol.

  • Josh Emerson

From what I’ve read, the pure overall viewers don’t really matter to the networks, especially NBC. They’re looking at the demos and Chuck has been holding about steady in that area.

But your numbers are way wrong Addict. Gossip Girl and OTH did not do anywhere near those numbers. GG had a 1.3 in the demo and OTH a 1.2. according to TVByTheNumbers.

Can someone put One Tree Hill out of its misery, please? There are six decent dramas competing for a scant few spots on the fall CW schedule, and I’d hate for an aging OTH to keep a potentially longer-running show off the air. Let’s not forget what happened with the 7th Heaven over Everwood affair, shall we? Big, big mistake. Just as it would be a horrendous error to pick up the GG spinoff (Lily) and Melrose Place (which will be viewed as a 90210 knock-off), at the expense of Vampire Diaries or A Beautiful Life.
