With the CW getting set to officially announce their Fall lineup tomorrow in New York City, theTVaddict.com is thrilled to be one of the first to offer up an early glimpse at the three new shows that we may-or-may-not be borderline too old to watch! Quick observations: None of the girls on MP impress me, except KCassidy. And both of the vampire boys are long-in-the-tooth. Very poor casting on VD. I actually like the cast of Beautiful Life…a LOT.

Since it’s being reported that Vampires will inhabit Thur. 8pm, with Smallville sliding to Fri. 8pm, I’ll echo the prevailing comment: Why is The CW wasting the post-Smallville slot on a weekly rerun of Top Model, instead of getting into the “real” network game with something original, like Reaper, Privileged, Body Politic or The Game—-all more viable and attractive options than a tired old reality repeat of something that aired two days earlier.

  • Did anyone else see The Beautiful Life and think, “Corbin Bleu? Ew. Nevermind.”

  • Jacob

Yes, Raked. Just not about Corbin (Ie. Marissa Cooper! Pass)

    Melrose Place again…ok..ay?

And those two guys not only ARE much older than the actress in VD but they look a lot older too. Agreed Nick. Poor casting.

Super excited about BEAUTIFUL LIFE and Vampire Diaries!!! And of course Season 3 of Gossip Girl!

  • I’d rather get my obsession on with Vampire Diaries. I tend to get obsessed with shows that end up pis***g me off at the endings where i have to wait a whole week to see what happens next. Smallville, Supernatural, Dollhouse, & Gossip Girl. Whoa! I think I need to lay off tv for a while. lol

Bad casting on VD. Paul Wesley looks like a sad excuse for David Boreanaz. And I really hope they’re not trying to pass those boys off as 16. There’s a lot of casting older actors to play teens that I can handle, but c’mon, they both look over 25.

Just how many teen dramas does the CW think they can produce before people realize that they’re watching the same show with different actors? seriously, you’ve got One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, and 90210. Now they’re adding Melrose (which is another remake, which i don’t think is gonna work again. they got lucky with 90210) and The Beautiful Life? The good news is no new reality shows. VD is the only different thing they have (which i really want to be a good vampire show, but i can’t help but feel like they’re just gonna write some complete crap and throw a couple vampires in to ride on the coattails of Twilight).

I’m really going to miss Privileged :(. I agree with Niki, they better not be trying to pass Ian and Paul off as 16 year-olds b/c that is ridiculous. They look at least 10 years older than the main girl. Skeezey.

The girl in Vampire Diaries has no charisma at all, and that’s the worst I’ve ever seen Ian S. look….and I’m an Ian fan. Paul Wesley doesn’t even deserve commentary. How can ABC Family and Disney Channel, for instance, find so many good-looking young stars for their series–(key word: young)–while CW struggles in casting virtually every new show? ( i.e. 90210, Vampire)

I’m very excited for Mischa’s return, however. Love her or hate her, she is a presence on-screen who is hard to look away from.

The casting for VD is actually the only reason I’ll give the show a chance 😛 I’m a big Degrassi fan though lol And I love Ian S.

I will give all these shows a chance for sure but I don’t know if any of them will stick.

  • Haya

I am definitely gonna be watching Melrose Place! C’mon Ashlee Simpson! That is gonna be one entertaining train-wreck… also it doesnt hurt that Michael Rady is beautiful.

I love Ian Somerland, but I definitely won’t be giving Vampire Diaries a shot.

The Beautiful Life I’m kinda on the fence about, I’ll wait for the reviews for that one.

  • So as a long time fan of the VD series, I can tell you they only got it right with Ian. First off, both vamps were turned during Renaissance Italy. They are ITALIAN. And Elena is supposed to be blond with green eyes.

Melrose Place :meh: It looks like an interesting cast fofr Beautiful Life but there’s only so many teen dramas I can fit in my life and since GG is doing it right, I’m not going to add any more subpar ones. I liked original 90210 so I gave this one a try but I was never a huge Melrose Place fan so ….

I will give VD’s and a BL a chance…but i’m not expecting too much. Especially since GG this season has been so disappointing and 90210 is not as good as it could have been.
