Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Shows We’re Still Embarrassed to Watch with Our Parents

Yesterday, fellow TV Blogger Memles posed the following question via twitter, “Is watching HUNG with my parents just asking for total awkwardness?” Well, as it would turn out, HUNG, at least by cable standards was fairly restrained in its use of gratuitous sex and nudity and thus, gets this TV Addict’s seal of approval on the off chance you were thinking of sitting down and watching it with the parental units. That said, here are five shows we highly recommend that you don’t watch with your parents.

1. TRUE BLOOD
2. THE TUDORS
3. SEX AND THE CITY
4. QUEER AS FOLK
5. ROME

I’ve never seen a few of those, but I agree with True Blood, Sex and The City, and Rome. I would add Weeds and Entourage. Pretty much if it comes on HBO or one of the other subscription networks, I know that I should not watch it with my parents.

  • Nick

    Easy enough solution. Avoid cable.

  • Josh C.

i would also add in Nip/Tuck. not all the time but alot of episodes would have questionable items in it i would avoid watching with my parents.

  • Oh God, The Tudors is SOOOO awkward!

  • Tim

oh yea, lol. hilarious. u should do movies. lol

  • Tim,
The first movie that comes to mind is AMERICAN PIE. I’ll never forget my dad walking in during the infamous “pie scene” Awkward indeed.
