Josh,

While I do think that one of those animatronic Disney robots would make an interesting host, I’m not so sure Seacrest gets enough credit for what he does.

Hosting well, is far easier said than done… as my fellow Canadians can attest to after watching our Country’s Seacrest equivalent Ben Mulroney do an embarrassingly poor job of hosting CANADIAN IDOL over the course of the past few years.

Even if he had wanted to stay, there’s no reason to think Dunkleman would still be around and getting paid that much money.

I don’t get the appeal of Seacrest either. Idol could switch to using video-only introductions and it’s not like it would make the show worse. He doesn’t exactly add much.

What is really crazy is that is just his pay for AI. The guy is one of the busiest men in showbusiness, so he is also being paid by for all the stuff he does on E! and his radio show which is syndicated at least nationwide.

Can I just state the obvious: Seacrest is the luckiest person in Hollywood. He’s the primary reason I cannot stand watching an Idol telecast. Yes, he’s worse than listening to Paula’s babble. I don’t get the allure of this hack at ALL. And if someone thinks he’s worth $45-mil, then WOW, there are some real idiots running the entertainment industry.
