Ok, seriously? They nominated Entourage and Family Guy over Pushing Daisies and Chuck? I know there are those that will disagree with me but Entourage and Family Guy stopped being funny (and original) 3 years ago.

  • Great to see Family Guy breaking the barrier!

    By the way, Emmys.com SUCKS!

  • Josh Emerson

    HIMYM finally made it!!! 😀

Family Guy is just so inconsistent these days. They’ll have one episode that is hilarious (the Lauren Conrad one) and then a bunch of crap.

It’s great to see Sarah Silverman make the cut.

  • WTF?

Guess Chandra Wilson is the winner then. She’s the only nominee.

  • Ace

I’m going to look at the silver lining and say at least they got it right by nominating Michael Emerson.

  • I’m just assuming that for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, Jon Hamm’s nominated for ’30 Rock,’ not ‘Mad Men.’ 🙂

  • Josh C.

I’m really liking the nominees this year

  • Josh Emerson

At least Pushing Daisies is represented one more time. Surprised but happy to see the rest of the 30 Rock cast getting nominations too. I’m actually somewhat surprised they didn’t take even more of the guest actor spots.

  • Linda B.

Am p*ssed they excluded Kevin McKidd from Grey’s Anatomy for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama. He and Sandra Oh were the main reason I watched this year.

Am glad to see all the love for Dexter, but if Jimmy Smits was in every episode this season, is it really considered a guest role? What’s the rule on that?

  • Yehey How I Met Your Mother nominated!

And woohoo for Jim Parsons and Kristin Chenoweth 🙂

  • Ace

In looking over the list again, there are still a few people I would have liked to see (the cast of LOST was awesome this year, Lee Pace, Chuck, Party Down), but overall it isn’t a bad list. Awesome that Kristin Chenoweth is nominated. And I love Project Runway, but it should not be up there. It wasn’t even on all of last year… Would have been nice if Cat Deely got some love instead.

  • Paul

I love Entourage but there’s no way it’s funnier than The Big Bang Theory. Ditto for Weeds and HIMYM.

  • Nick

You’re kidding me, right? Boston Legal is still getting nominations? What, no Sopranos?

(BTW, you have Jon Hamm listed in the Guest Actor category for Mad Men. Should it be another nominee?)

For guest-actress, I say give it to both Betty White and Elaine Stritch, two of the funniest old broads ever. (I just caught Betty on an old Boston Legal…sorry nets, if you program crap, I’m watching Ion-TV….and she is just hysterical.)

  • Outstanding Animated Program
    AMERICAN DAD
    ROBOT CHICKEN
    SOUTH PARK
    THE SIMPSONS

So I assume FAMILY GUY was not qualified because it already got a nod in the Comedy Program

  • Amy D

Happy to see HIMYM, Sandra Oh, and Jim Parsons.

  • Survivor snubbed again for Outstanding Reality Competition Program?
I will still root for The Amazing Race then haha. But if they will lose I hope either Project Runway or Top Chef would beat it not the other two. I watch AI and supported a lot of the previous contestants but compared to the other reality-competition programs they pale in comparison when it comes to production.

    The full list of nominees

30 Rock and Mad Men got 4/5 for the WRITING nominees! There should be a limit to give way for other well written shows, I just find it unfair. Nothing against those shows, by the way.

  • SimplyKimberly

I am really disappointed that Josh Holloway didn’t get nominated. He had an amazing season.

  • kate

No love for kathrine heigel!? This past season of greys was pretty much her show!

  • RT

I agree why is Mad Men needing to hog all the writing nominations? Come on there are other shows just as deserving.

I’m really rooting for Michael C Hall to take home the gold this year. Happy for Michael Emerson of course. No love for Jack Bender (directing, LOST) is not very nice. There is NOTHING on TV that even comes close to LOST in directing.

Comedy is such a difficult thing nowadays because the style of comedy spreads so far apart. It’s hard to believe Chuck, Pushing Daisies, 2.5 Men, 30 Rock, SNL, Monk, and Desperate Housewives are all judged the same. If it’s really about making me laugh (comedy, right???) then it’s 30 Rock and It’s Always Sunny in Philly by a mile.

  • My choices (in the categories where I actually watch at least one of the shows — and including some personal picks that didn’t actually make it)…

Drama — 1st Choice: Lost; 2nd Choice: House

    Lead Actor in Drama
    – 1st Choice: Edward James Olmos, BSG (not actually nominated)
    – 2nd Choice: Hugh Laurie, House (my only real choice)
    – 3rd Choice: James Spader, Boston Legal (not actually nominated)

Lead Actress in Drama: Sally Field (again, my only choice)

    Supporting Actor in Drama
    – 1st Choice: Michael Emerson, Lost
    – 2nd Choice: Josh Holloway, Lost (not actually nominated)
    – 3rd Choice: Christian Clemenson, Boston Legal
    – 4th Choice: William Shatner, Boston Legal

Supporting Actress in a Drama: Elizabeth Mitchell (not actually nominated)

    Guest Actor in Drama
    – 1st Choice: Michael J. Fox (my only choice; good performance, but I hated his character)
    – 2nd Choice: Ernest Borgnine (wow, that was one of the few episodes of ER I actually watched this year)

Host of Reality Competition: Jeff Probst, Survivor (my only choice)

Reality Program — 1st Choice: Mythbutsters; 2nd Choice: Dirty Jobs

Animated Program: South Park (odd that Star Wars: The Clone Wars isn’t at least nominated)

I bet that Antique Roadshow will get the Emmy in the Oustanding Reality Show Category…LOL!

  • I’m happy to see some people getting recognized like Chandra Wilson, HIMYM and Family Guy but I was really hoping Jill Scott would get a nod for No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. A Black woman has not even been nominated in that category for decades.

And the Emmys really needs to switch it up. I don’t watch cause it’s the same damn nominees and even the slight difference is still too little. What about Psych for comedy series (hilarious) or Leverage (new, clever). Just so many good new shows.

  • HazelJia

Am I the only one who thinks that all the nominations for Law & Order: SVU have to be a joke? I mean, seriously… that show is getting worse by the episode!!!

Interesting that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul both got nominated, yet no love for BREAKING BAD.

  • Am I the only one that thinks 30 Rock IS NOT FUNNY?? Pee Wee Herman’s appearance was great, but otherwise I barely crack a smile. I don’t know who’s pulling the strings, but this show is absolutely not Emmy-worthy. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia should be getting this kind of attention!
