Separated at Birth: CAPRICA & THE PLAN DVD Box Art!

Dear Universal Studios Home Entertainment,

While we at continue to be grateful to you for allowing the likes of Ronald D. Moore and Jane Espenson to tell stories in the form of direct-to-DVD movies such as CAPRICA and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: THE PLAN — would it be too much to ask for you to hire a graphic designer who doesn’t phone it in? I mean seriously, we get that in these troubling economic times you’re probably looking to cut down on costs and more likely that not aren’t spending your work days swimming ‘Scrooge McDuck’ style in a vault full of money. But come’on — the box art for CAPRICA and THE PLAN — we can’t see the difference, can you?

well tvaddict i like them :d

I’m not of a fan of “The Plan” box art. It would take me 5 minutes to whip that up using Photoshop.

The first thing I thought when I saw them was that they looked like the Grey’s Anatomy season sets. So I’m guessing this is just common design for TV shows on DVD, not just these two.

I agree that this is an overused concept in box art, but I like both.

I probably prefer the Caprica one, since it’s more unconventional. (It does seem to me, however, that the shots of Stoltz and Morales are just screencaps.)

The one for The Plan is plainer, but still decent. I like the shot of Tricia Helfer — it’s a promotional photo I hadn’t seen before — and the way it’s composed.
