Say what you will about Joanna Garcia, but one thing’s for certain, she’s a survivor. Which is why, fresh off the untimely demise of last season’s delightful PRIVILEGED (moment of silence please), the talented and beautiful actress now finds herself with a pretty good consilation price — arm candy to the GOSSIP GIRL’s Nate Archibald. According to Michael Ausiello, Garcia will be sticking around for at least four episodes playing Bree Buckley, “an irreverent, slightly evil Miss America-type who hails from a conservative Southern family.” More photos of whom can be found after the jump.

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Vampires Ignored by Entertainment Weekly
In their wildly-predictable August 7th cover story, Entertainment Weekly did a typically-lazy Top 20 list of the “Greatest Vampires Of All Time.” And as one might expect of a piece obviously slapped together in an attempt to boost sales by putting TRUE BLOOD’s Bill and Twilight’s Edward on the cover, the list… well, frankly, it sucked. Which is why CT put together his list of top five vamps who should have made the cut but didn’t.
Barnabas Collins, DARK SHADOWS
How the magazine expected to have its list taken seriously when it left off one of the most legendary blood suckers in entertainment history is beyond us. Barnabas single fangededly turned an about-to-be-canceled soap and made it the talk of the nation.
Godric, TRUE BLOOD
Because the mag never met a story it couldn’t miss the current peg to, they failed to even mention Allan Hyde’s majorly sexy vamp, who joins Bill and Eric in rounding out the show’s unholy trinity of undead hotties. In only a few episodes, he left an indelible image in the minds of viewers, many of whom would love nothing more than for the show to somehow let the undead hunk rise from his literal ashes like a phoenix.

Fall Preview 09: TRAUMA
By: Melissa Girimonte, The Televixen
You’ve seen the teasers. You’ve heard the hype. Now there’s only one thing you want to know: Which of the new fall shows are worth watching and which should be avoided at all costs? In this continuing series, we give you the scoop on some of the most highly-anticipated shows of the season. Which will be the next GREY’S ANATOMY… and which will be the new JOEY? Next up, NBC attempts to recapture its former ER glory with TRAUMA.
Why We’ll Watch: Monday nights are perfect for mindless entertainment, so why not spend some time with the paramedics at San Francisco General as they respond to medical emergencies by land, air and water? The characters while imperfect, are likeable (Particularly Rabbit (Cliff Curtis), the reckless yet vulnerable flight medic, and Nancy (Anastasia Griffith), an MD who chose to be a paramedic). Which luckily for NBC goes a long way in making up for the series’ been there, done that feeling. Seriously. As much as I really wanted to not like this desperate attempt by the Peacock Network to recapture ER’s glory years, I found myself — in the same way SOUTHLAND grabbed my attention last spring — intrigued enough by the characters and hooked on the adrenaline rush to ask the one question that is music to any exec’s ears: What happens next?
Morning Static: Alexander Skarsgard, Paula Abdul & More!
Welcome to our morning round-up of big/interesting TV news that you may have missed over the past 24 hours because unlike us, there’s a fairly good chance that have a life outside of the small screen.
A&E Television Network is suing California-based Genuine Entertainment over who thought up the idea for an upcoming Steven Seagal reality TV show LAWMEN. Which if you ask us, is probably not something to be proud of. [Reuters]
Good News: SEINFELD alum Patrick Warburton continues to make us laugh. Bad News: Not so much on his middling CBS sitcom RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, but rather thanks to his cameo in the latest Apple commercial. [YouTube]
In: THE X FACTOR contestant Danyl Johnson. Out: THE X FACTOR contestant Susan Boyle [YouTube]

First Look: GREEK Row Strips Down!
Introducing the 61st Annual CRU Undie Run. Or as this TV Addict likes to call it, a rating stunt we can really get behind. And yes, we’re is well aware that if this were any other network (cough*CW*cough), or any other series for that matter (cough*THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE*cough), we’d probably be screaming something to the effect of “most blatant sweeps stunt EVAR!” But since we’re talking GREEK here, a show that not only has earned the right to have a little fun after three season of consistent quality, but could use all the eyeballs it can get… Well, we’re just gonna go ahead and remind you that not to miss an annual college tradition on September 14th at 9PM on ABC Family. One that will have your favorite Greek Row Co-eds partaking in “The Half-Naked Gun.” More revealing photos of which can be found after the jump.
DOLLHOUSE’s Dushku + Graphic Design = OMG!
As if the remarkable “Epitaph One” wasn’t setting the bar high enough, along comes this unbelievably cool and eye-catchingly original poster for the second season of DOLLHOUSE. Seriously, if the upcoming season can live up to even half of this just-released promotional poster’s awesomeness… Well, fans are in for one helluva ride! (Starting September 25 at 9PM on FOX and Global TV in Canada.)
Good News, Bad News: HEROES, SKINS & Ryan Jenkins
Good News: GLEE star Jayma Mays has found a project to keep herself occupied during GLEE’s hiatus. Bad News: That project, reprising the role of Charlie, Hiro’s ill-fated love interest on the sinking ship we like to call HEROES. [EW]
Good News: We’re getting more SKINS! Bad News: Thanks to MTV who is developing what we can only imagine will be a watered down Americanized version of the hit British teen series. [ZonTV]
Good News: The headline grabbing story of Ryan Jenkins — the reality TV contestant who was found dead, hanging from a belt in his hotel room after fleeing to Canada upon being accused of murdering his swimsuit supermodel ex-wife Jasmine Fiore — is finally over. Bad News: For Nancy Grace and the rest of her Cable News cohorts. [Vancouver Sun]
Your First Look at 90210’s [Really] New Beginning
Apparently new 90210 showrunner Rebecca Rand Kirshner Sinclair wasn’t kidding when she promised last spring that 90210’s second season would be ‘significantly different’ from its first.
In fact, upon closer inspection of the show’s upcoming season premiere (airing September 8 at 8PM on the CW and Global in Canada), appropriately titled “To New Beginnings”, this TV Addict can’t help but wonder if a more appropriate title might have been “To New Directions.” How else to explain the single less-than-glamorous shot of the show’s once-central-character Annie Mills among the sixteen (Count ’em, 16!) publicity stills released to the media? Is it possible 90210’s creative team finally came to their senses and realized that the re-boot needs to focus on characters viewers actually care about (See: the Taylors — Jackie, Kelly and Silver). Or, is this simply a happy coincidence? Post away with your theory in the comments below.
A Closer Look at THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE
By: Vlada Gelman
Last year, Mischa Barton passed on the part of bad girl Georgina Sparks on GOSSIP GIRL, but there’s still a chance that she may cross paths with Blair, Chuck and the rest of the gang.
THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE executive producer Mike Kelley, who is “good friends” with GOSSIP producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, pitched his idea for a crossover between the two shows at a recent Q&A. It’s not hard to imagine a crossover between the two glitzy, New York-set shows, but the setting for Kelley’s idea is far from glamorous.
“Our cast is on the subway, and their cast is on the subway, and the subway shuts down. We don’t necessarily have to cross them. We can tell two stories with them in the background of us and maybe have one or two characters cross through,” Kelley described. “Something like that, that would be an event moment. It would have to be really creative. They don’t need us.”
Whether or not Barton will be on GOSSIP GIRL is a mystery, but she will very much be a part of THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE, Kelley and fellow executive producer Karey Burke emphasized.
“We love her. I’ve known her for years,” said Kelley, who worked on THE OC and created SWINGTOWN. “She looks great. Her acting is terrific. Her character is integral to all the stories, so her character is not going anywhere and neither is she.”
“She’s been nothing but a total pro,” Burke added. “Her situation did nothing to stop production or push production. It’s our own fault that we didn’t have our sets ready.”
