Canada Gets its Own Version of Hulu and We’ve Got Your First Look
The Good: The closest things Canadians have to Hulu has arrived with the impending November 30th launch of Rogers on Demand Online, an exciting new service that allows Rogers (and Fido subscribers) to watch their favorite shows online and on demand.
At launch both current (COUGAR TOWN, COMMUNITY, UGLY BETTY) and classic TV Addict favorites (THE WEST WING) will be available and thanks to a very Hulu-esque design are incredibly easy to find, fantastic looking and did we mention FREE to current Rogers and Fido customers.
Turns out, Rogers actually gets it. Customers want TV when and where they want it. Said VP of Video Product Management David Purdy, “We’re no longer in the cable TV business. We’re in the video entertainment business.” And to that end, this is only the beginning. With Rogers pledging to not only roll out their entire channel lineup via this on demand service in the coming months, but across multiple platforms as well. TV, Online and coming in 2010, the big one… Phones (The dream of TV on our iPhone may soon become a reality!) Plus talk surrounding streaming via the PS3 and XBOX 360 as well.
Are You Smart Enough To Decipher FOX’s 2010 Midseason Schedule?
This afternoon FOX unveiled their 2010 midseason schedule. But fair warning — complete with disappointing surprise hiatuses (FRINGE, GLEE), two-night premieres (24, AMERICAN IDOL, HUMAN TARGET) and time slot-shifts (CLEVELAND SHOW, KITCHEN NIGHTMARES) — you’re most definitely going to have to be smarter than a fifth grader to decipher it. See for yourself after the jump.
Dear Seth MacFarlane…
Assuming the remaining forty-one minutes are as funny as the above three minute and thirty-one second trailer for the second installment of FAMILY GUY’s loving homage to STAR WARS titled, “Something Something Something Darkside” all is forgiven for the thirty-minute train-wreck that was SETH & ALEX’S ALMOST LIVE COMEDY SHOW. We swear.
Sincerely,
The TV Addict
Tonight’s TV Addict Must Watch: V
In the shocking final moments of tonight’s episode of V, Anna, the intrepid leader of the mysterious Visitors promises that “It’s only the beginning.” Of what exactly, well, we’re not about to spoil that here. But what we will reveal is that unlike the season’s previous two episodes, tonight’s Fall Finale finally delivers on the promise of the ABC re-boot’s fantastic series premiere. Complete with unexpected plot twists, surprising character connections, explosions, stabbings and even a skinning, writers Cameron Litvack and Angela Russo-Otstot have done a bang up job of ensuring that every single one of the episode’s forty-four minutes are packed with just enough shock and awe to ensure that fans will be counting down the days until the V returns in the spring. With bonus points for giving Tyler (or as we like to to call him, the most grating teen to hit the sci-fi scene since the early days of Wesley Crusher) something pivotal to do.
V airs on ABC at 8PM (CTV in Canada)

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: More Questions with GLEE Star Cory Monteith
Aside from fellow Canadian Bryan Adams, which artist would you like to see Finn perform to?
Cory Monteith: I think Billy Joel would be a great choice for Finn. When I think of Finn I think of classic rock and I think Finn and the rock music aspect would be really interesting rather than have him sing R&B,
What — aside from the just-released GLEE soundtrack of course — is on your iPod right now.
Right now I’m listening to a lot of Jeff Buckley, a lot of Radiohead and a lot of old stuff it seems. I listen to a lot of different genres, I like all music, from metal, to rock, to Jazz, to Big Band, whatever.
There has been a lot of talk about a live tour, what can you spill?
There’s been talk of GLEE on Broadway, GLEE on Ice….

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER: Slape Diem!
Having seen enough disappointing sequels over the course of our lifetime, the number ‘2’ in last night’s HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER episode title (“Slapsgiving 2: Revenge of the Slap”) should have been the tip off. But alas, this TV Addict was far too blinded by the impending awesomeness of the ‘slap bet’ to see it coming. Unfortunately, not even the the return of the slap could save this turkey.
