Isn’t The X Factor the same type show as America’s Got Talent? Why would we need 2 identical shows?

Simon’s probably leaving to manage the career of new X-Factor winner Joe McElderry. Have you seen this guy? Next Big Thing, or someone’s not doing their job.

I thought some were talking about this being Idol’s last season anyways? Wouldn’t that just coincide with cowell not just leaving but the show ending and him going on with x factor?

I thought I read that Fox was tying their pickup of X Factor to Simon signing a new contract with Idol. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does leave though. He did the same thing in the UK, although Pop Idol just disappeared completely at that point. I can’t imagine AI disappearing that easily.
