SAG Award Winners (GLEE) and Losers (MODERN FAMILY, Again!)

Among the biggest winners at last night’s 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) held Saturday night in Los Angeles were 30 ROCK stars Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey and THE GOOD WIFE’s Julianna Marguilies (Who as it turns out, broke the record for most wins by an actor with her seventh overall win for Best Actress in a Drama Series). Among the losers — aside that is, from this TV Addict who couldn’t watch the awards thanks to TBS/TNT inexplicable decision to air them on the one night that we aren’t usually plopped firmly in front of our flatscreen — was MODERN FAMILY, who has the unfortunate timing of premiering in the same season as the unstoppable juggernaut that is GLEE (Which walked away with the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series) are us, the viewers. A complete list of winners can be found after the jump.

Why does Glee keep winning these awards?! The show is entertaining, but come on! It’s gotta be one of the most overrated shows on TV. It is in no way as good as Modern Family.

I’m happy to see Michael C Hall recognized once again. It’s about time he got some awards for Dexter.

  • TVFan

    First off: GO GLEE!

    Secondly: Michael C. Hall FTW!

Finally: As much as I enjoy 30 Rock, I think it’s time for Tina and Alec to respectively withdrawal their nominations and start to give some fresh blood a chance.

  • BJ

J I think it’s because of Glee’s mass appeal. I know kids, teens, grown adults and older people in love with Glee not to mention it’s global appeal. Meanwhile the few people I know that do watch Modern Family are all in their 30’s and up, and I doubt people across the pond all over the world are as into that show.

Let’s not forget the most-deserving award of the entire night: the Lifetime Achievement Award to the awesome, amazing Betty White.

When you think about the laughs and rock-solid entertainment she’s given us for over 60 years—even in small supporting roles like Katherine on “Boston Legal”—we’ll never see this kind of enduring talent again. She is beloved throughout the industry and throughout American homes, the very definition of TV Icon.

I nominate Betty’s career award for the next cover of TV Addict Magazine. She’s a legend, if ever there was one.

  • LB

Love that Michael C. Hall picked up another well-deserved award.

I just started watching Modern Family and already I know it should have won over Glee (I like Glee, but it’s just so inconsistent).

I am so sick of 30 Rock/Tina/Alec winning so much.

  • BizarroP

I think Modern Family will win the Emmy for best comedy series regardless of Glee being nominated
