While Smallville’s rating might be up slightly from the norm, and will likely double (or more) when DVR viewership is factored in, I have to ask viewers one SNL-type question: “REALLY??” You really weren’t curious enough to tune in for the most amazing episode in series history. Really? A “House” rerun was more important? Really?

Having said that, I’d also like to ask The CW where the “added promotion” was for this landmark movie episode? When interviewed, Dawn O. said there would “absolutely” be a big promotional push. Did I miss it? ‘Cause I’m in the industry, and never saw it. So I guess there’s a lot of blame to be shared, by the network and viewers alike.

For the future, when you have a high-profile event that can attract new and former viewers, better learn to exploit it.
