Still have a feeling that Parenthood will go down fast. Though 8.23 is better than I expected.

  • Frank

Parenthood was done well. No doubt there ratings will go up – will be watching next week – the cast and writing was really amazing.

A follow-up note to Mon. ratings, after reading that this “Bachelor” cycle was the biggest ever. When Jake was chosen, viewers and media cried “No, he’s boring!” But consider that Jake is also the best-looking bachelor the show has ever presented.

Then look at what keeps untalented guys around on Idol into the finals, year after year: good looks.

In everyday life, the phrase is true: “It’s all about the money.” But when it comes to drawing viewers, you’d think networks would learn: “It’s all about the hot looks.” Doesn’t matter if you’re boring or can’t sing or act.

I don’t know about that Nick. Idol has never really had guys that were that good looking. Is there someone specific you are talking about?

Parenthood didn’t debut too badly. But with how much NBC flooded the Olympics with promos for it, I kind of expected more.

  • Aleks

Interesting that Parenthood won its hour in the demo. If it keeps that up, I’d imagine NBC would be willing to keep it around to stay competitive.

  • Nick

    Jason Castro. Tim Urban. Sanjaya.

Thankfully I don’t watch the crap to know many others. But you get the point.

i really liked Parenthood i hope it stays on.

The Biggest Loser almost beat Lost in the 9 pm hour….Maybe EW is putting the wrong show on it’s cover every week.

  • Hil

Parenthood wasn’t that bad. AND it was definitely better than Leno at that slot as far as ratings go. (not hard to do, but still had to lay it out there).

  • Kelli

As a loyal Lauren Graham & Craig T. Nelson follower, Ron Howard captured an amazing cast and the writing is tremendous. I think Parenthood is a must watch. I cried and laughed all in the first episode. It deserves to be watched!
