Television Critics Association Unveils Award Nominees

The Television Critic Association. The few, the proud, the lucky son-of-a-guns whose ‘job’ description actually entails spending two week of the year in Los Angeles hobnobbing your favorite small screen stars and getting paid to watch television have just unveiled their nominations for this year’s TCA Awards. How can Friday Night Lights be nominated for best program but not nominated for anything else? I have not seen it, and heard it was good, but seems odd not to get recognition in other areas.

I love that you chose Yo Gabba Gabba as one of your favorites. My little 3 year old cousin is obsessed with that show!

I really like these nominees overall, except the love for Glee. It's so overrated and should be replaced by 30 Rock.

  • joshemerson

I also love the inclusion of Party Down!

    My picks:
    John Lithgow
    Jane Lynch (incredibly tough category!)
    The Rachel Maddow Show
    Yo Gabba Gabba
    Modern Family
    Torchwood
Lost (where the hell is Dexter?)
    Modern Family
    Shatner
    Lost
    Modern Family

I know that nominating committees tend to lean toward the “in, hip, buzzy” shows…but how 30 Rock is not among the top 5 comedy choices is a crime. Yes, it's been well-rewarded, but it's still hysterical.
