Will Arnett and Jason Bateman teach SMALLVILLE a thing or two about selling gum!

As part of Internet Week New York, Will Arnett and Jason Bateman unveiled the first digital short from their production company DumbDumb. They call it, “The Prom Date.” We call it, product placement we can get behind. But don’t take are word for it, see for yourself what happens when two parents (Rachael Harris and Jason Bateman) meet their daughter’s (Aubrey Plaza, complete with trademark eye-roll) prom date. Why must the universe tease me with something that is yet again a reminder that there is no more Arrested Development?

Note to CW and the rest of television:

See how SIMPLE it is to do comedy? This 5-min. scene is laugh-out-loud hilarious. It's just writing and casting. Not brain surgery or rocket science. Intelligent writing and casting people who are naturally funny. Try it. You'll find it's both popular and profitable, first-run and syndication.
