After losing her scholarship, Marti (Alyson Michalka) is forced to join the competitive cheer-leading program at the fictional Lansing University, where she quickly butts heads with captain Savannah (Ashley Tisdale) and resident queen bee Alice (Heather Hemmens). Clichéd and seeming cribbed from every dance/sports movie ever (Marti even pops in a DVD of Bring It On), there is a promising college drama with a sharper than expected script hiding underneath all the pom-poms. Produced by SMALLVILLE’s Tom Welling, it’s right on brand, yet a little above average — Aleks Chan

    It was better than I thought it would be. BUT living in Memphis it was ridiculous the way the portrayed downtown as being all clean and the “heart of Memphis” I laughed at them having a little breakfast at a little table by the bridge!
