Remember the Connie Francis song “Where The Boys Are” ?

We should have her re-work the tune to “Where The Old People Are.” They're watching ABC, Mondays and Tuesdays from 8-10pm. Mystifying.

WOW @ Lone Star. Those ratings are brutal. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first show axed.

Chuck did as expected. NBC didn't put any promotion into it. You know they knew what to expect. It just needs to hang on above a 2.

  • joshemerson

HIMYM did a 3.6 and 8.78 million viewers. You have ROE's numbers in there.

I can not believe how bad Lonestar ratings are…The show had a tons of hype and promotion and people didnt even come out to watch to pilot..there is no way this show last for a month with a 4 and a 1.5 on the pilot episode

I'm hoping that all of the people that didn't like “The Event” will tune into Lone Star next week. If not, it will be a shame.

  • I don't know, I am wondering if due to the competition their numbers will increase when they factor in delayed viewing (DVR). However, I agree that right now it certainly doesn't look good!

PS) Can someone please explain the ratings for me? I totally get that the 4.54 is in millions, so it had 4.54 million viewers. HOWEVER, what does the 1.5/4 mean??

what about mike & molly? i think it help most of its lead in, which is impressive for a new comey these days, right?

  • Thanks for the heads up Josh!

I picked The Event and should have watched Lone Star probably. I am going to give Lone Star a chance next week I guess.

Nicole, this is the explanation from Wikipedia:

“Share is the percentage of television sets in use tuned to the program. For example, Nielsen may report a show as receiving a 9.2/15 during its broadcast, meaning that on average 9.2 percent of all television-equipped households were tuned in to that program at any given moment, while 15 percent of households watching TV were tuned into that program during this time slot. The difference between rating and share is that a rating reflects the percentage of the total population of televisions tuned to a particular program while share reflects the percentage of televisions actually in use.”

So the little number is the % of people who are watching the show out of everyone who has a TV (whether it is on or not). The big number is the % of people who are watching the show out of everyone who actually has the TV on.

This is what I'm hoping, as well. While The Event wasn't awful, I'm sure it's numbers will drop next week–it had huge promotion and mystery surrounding it, while I could see how Lone Star's promotion may not have sold it to the general viewing audience. FNL was definitely a word-of-mouth show (although it never got big numbers either), so hopefully the same will be true for Lone Star. It was such a great hour of television, and I'm really, really worried about it. Hopefully FOX will give it the patience it deserves–especially since it's going up against Dancing with the Stars (which I could see stealing a lot of its target demo) and the premiere of The Event. Really pulling for this show–such a shame it could be first to go and meanwhile shows like Jersey shore get multiple seasons.

Any chance Lone Star could get moved to something like FX or another cable station? It's been called more of a cable show since day one anyway.

  • If history has taught us anything, FOX doesn't like the same stuff to be renewed as we do.

R.I.P. LoneStar. I would've liked you, but I don't want to try anymore.

  • Ace –

Why does it say 18 – 49 over it though? Is the percentages ONLY for that age group?

  • dave

It took me the first 2 shows to like the event. The first one alone was confusing. I think it will work.
