Amy Poehler Hosts SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE and we’ve got your Good, Bad & Ugly
THE GOOD: Thanks to an unusually stellar mix of sketches including timely nods to Christine O’Donnell, Katy Perry’s boobs, and the controversy surrounding the Mosque at Ground Zero, last night’s 36th SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE season premiere opened on an undeniable high note. The highlight of which — aside of course from host Amy Poehler reuniting with Seth Meyers on the Weekend Update Desk — was the much-needed addition of African American actor Jay Pharaoh, who delivered both hilarious and dead-on impersonations of both Will Smith and Chris Tucker. Also falling under the category of “good” was the show’s less-is-more approach that featured a bevy of sketches that actually left us wanting more, including “The Unwatchables,” Actor II Actor” and “Ground Zero Mosque.”

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Questions with DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES New Kid on the Block Vanessa Williams
From Wilhelmina to Wisteria Lane, actress Vanessa Williams didn’t waste anytime finding herself a plum gig following ABC’s UGLY cancellation of BETTY last spring. But just what is Williams doing on the Lane and more importantly, whom? We caught up with the talented actress earlier in the week to find out just that.
Aside from your character’s seemingly endless string of deliciously wicked one-liners, what do you hope UGLY BETTY is remembered for?
Vanessa Williams: Being unique. It was like nothing else in terms of dialogue, camera shots, wardrobe, characters, ensemble. We got a chance to really do a show on our own terms which was really is an opportunity that doesn’t come along often. It was a delight.

Friday Fun: Interpret this Downward Trend!
What does this downward trend represent?
a) LONE STAR’s unfortunate inability to make the most of their Monday night HOUSE lead in, prompting show creator Kyle Killen to make viewers an offer they can’t shouldn’t refuse heading into this week’s episode.
b) LIFE UNEXPECTED’s chances of getting a back nine pick up from the notoriously cash-strapped budget conscious CW network after being conspicuously left out of the network’s recent announcement for additional scripts from HELLCATS and ONE TREE HILL.
c) The fortunes of NBC’s primetime lineup during the disastrous Jeff Zucker era. An era which is thankfully and finally coming to a close with today’s announcement that Jeff Zucker is departing his post as chief executive of NBC Universal.
d) All of the above.
