SURVIVOR NICARAGUA Recap: Fish Mongering & Freudian Slips
By: Josh Wigler
Catching Your Fish & Eating It Too: There are still players in this game that I’ve barely even mentioned in previous SURVIVOR recaps, if I’ve mentioned them at all. (Just one more reason why I hate when this show has too many contestants.) But something tells me I’m going to be talking about Jane a lot more from here on out. Crazy old Jane, the fish monger of Nicaragua who feeds herself first and provides for the tribe second. I love that! SURVIVOR is a selfish game, no doubt, but it’s rare that people make moves like feeding themselves over others without paying the price. That’s what happened to Tyrone a few weeks back, and Jane could easily suffer a similar fate if caught.
But the way the scene was edited, I view Jane’s private fish meal as less of an ongoing thing and more of a moment where she chose to personally reward herself. Good on her. Too rare do the people playing SURVIVOR actually get to stop, smell the roses and just enjoy themselves. Jane is already sitting pretty with the majority alliance over at La Flor, so she doesn’t have too much strategy to worry about just yet. Might as well enjoy the day, as long as nobody walks in on her feasting.
Behind-the-Scenes of FRINGE: Jasika Nicole Talks Alternate Astrid
In a perfect world, or alternate universe if you will, where we (yes we!) controlled what comes across the airwaves, tonight’s primetime schedule would most certainly include brand new episodes of BONES, FRINGE — and while we’re spitballing ideas here — PARKS AND RECREATION. Unfortunately, as evidence by the fact that LONE STAR is no longer on the air, PARKS AND RECREATION’s return date remains “T.B.D,” and Entertainment Weekly has yet to pick up the phone and offer us Michael Ausiello’s job, perfect world it is not. What’s more, as a result of some baseball match that nobody on the East Coast actually cares about, all we can offer you, in lieu of new episodes, is a little something to tide you over in the form of this exclusive behind-the-scenes clip that has FRINGE star Jasika Nicole dissecting Alternate Astrid. Enjoy, and don’t forget, FRINGE and BONES return with brand new episode starting November 4 on FOX.

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: TV Related Events We’re Counting Down To!
BIG LOVE’s Big Finish
Under normal circumstances, we wouldn’t be celebrating the cancelation of one of the most interesting and unique shows to hit the small screen in years. That said, there was very little normal about HBO’s BIG LOVE. So rather than wallow in today’s news that the cult HBO favorite will call it quits after it ends its fifth season which is scheduled to kick off this January 16, 2011, we’d rather look on the bright side and applaud HBO for giving co-creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer ample time to craft a proper send-off and celebrate the fact that Sheffer told E! Online that, “I think you’ll agree this is definitively our best season to date.”
Say What? Our TV Quote of the Day!
“It is frustrating sometimes, on cable, we would’ve been able to have the guys on LONE STAR take off their clothes, the show would’ve pulled 1.3 million viewers and we would’ve declared it a hit because that’s what MAD MEN draws. We would’ve collected a few trophies too, and no one would’ve questioned it.” was FOX Entertainment President Kevin Reilly’s all to accurate response when asked about the challenges of doing a series for broadcast vs. cable at a recent the recent Hollywood Radio and TV Society’s Network Chiefs luncheon in Hollywood.

First Look: Wayne Knight Gets Himself into a Sticky Situation on BONES
The facts are these: PUSHING DAISIES may be gone, but its colorful costumes schemes have most definitely not been forgotten. Or at least that’s the impression we’re getting from these first look photos of Wayne Knight’s upcoming guest appearance on BONES that has the former SEINFELD star playing Jimmy Walpert III, a Willy Wonka-esque owner of Walpert’s Chocolate Factory who may-or-may-not be guilty of murder. “The Babe in The Bar,” airs November 18th on FOX, more first look photos of which can be seen after the jump.
