THE OFFICE is going old school. After almost seven seasons of successfully eschewing their network’s penchant for stunt casting in favour of funny actors who… wait for it… actually fit the part, Dunder Mifflin Sabre is hiring themselves a movie star.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Will Ferrell has committed to a four episode arc that will see him playing an inappropriate and inept branch manager.
“We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star,” said executive producer Paul Lieberstein. “We are proud to continue The Office‘s tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they’ll see what we see: tremendous raw sexuality.”
As per Deadline Hollywood, “NBC is still figuring out exactly when the episodes will air, but Ferrell has committed to one episode beyond Carell’s finale, to help create a bridge.”
