Although Sara Rue was a great host, this is also what happens when you try to launch a copycat reality series opposite American Idol. An original idea might be a novel approach. Watching Shedding, I just couldn’t imagine the appeal of Biggest Loser.

CW ought to be more concerned with Top Model’s enormous falloff. After 16 cycles of screaming/giddy girls, hasn’t anyone even considered one “change-up” cycle with Tyra and 16 hot young boys/men? It’s called “freshening up” a tired old idea, CW. Give it a try.

ANTM has changed. It’s been more about high fashion these past two seasons than about finding the “everyday girl” or different girl so I think that has more to do with the fall-off. I get excited to see Patrick Demarchelier, most people don’t know who he is.

But you’re right about Shedding. It’s been done and done better.

Most casual viewers don’t know the difference between Cycle 3 and Cycle 16. It’s still a bunch of screaming chicks. Shoot, even Survivor and Big Brother realize that an occasional “All Stars” version is needed. What is CW waiting for, a 1-rating, before it throws a curve (other than “short people”)?
