Ask the Addict: Spoilers for PRIVATE PRACTICE, THE MIDDLE, 30 ROCK & More!
Is there any hope for Addison and Sam on PRIVATE PRACTICE? — Lesley
The TV Addict: Oh, there’s always hope,! Unfortunately Addison and Sam’s not-so-direct-flight to “happily-ever-after-ville” will be hitting some serious turbulence this May 15th at 10PM thanks to the arrival of a mysterious admirer [Benjamin Bratt] who offers Addison an offer she can’t, but probably should, refuse.
Any word on how DESEPERATE HOUSEWIVES plans to end the season? — Jenn
The TV Addict: In typical Wisteria Lane fashion, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES will be kicking off May Sweeps with a bang. Or to be more specific, an arrest of one on your favorite Wisteria wives. What’s more, Sunday’s episode which we recently had the opportunity to screen will also include the arrival of a prowler on the lane and some serious marital strife for one of the show’s most stable couples.
CT To Trump: You’re Fired!
This morning, I did something that — as a TV fan who considers certain reality shows to be among his guiltiest of pleasures — was tough but necessary: I deleted THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE from my DVR. Despite having thoroughly enjoyed this season, I can no longer in good faith support anything tainted by Donald Trump, and would encourage others to do so as well.
Trump is many things, including a blowhard and an egomaniac. Always has been and, I have to assume, always will be. But above all, he is a man whose desperate attempts to keep himself relevant have led to such memorable media blitzes as his support of homophobic beauty queen Carrie Prejean and his nasty public feud with Rosie O’Donnell. More recently, he has stepped into the spotlight — stealing it from far more important issues — with a laughable presidential bid fueled almost entirely by the badly-coiffed tycoon hitching his star to the birther wagon.
Yesterday, in what was surely a low-point in recent American history, Barack Obama — the sitting president of the United States of America — was forced to hold a press conference at which he handed out copies of his birth certificate in order to silence those who insist that he is not qualified to hold the office.
That should have ended the talk and silenced Trump, who has made this the cornerstone issue of his will-he-or-won’t-he candidacy.

5 Thing You Didn’t Know About RULES OF ENGAGEMENT Star Adhir Kalyan
Continuing our infatuation with the little comedy that could, comes 5 things you didn’t know about RULES OF ENGAGEMENT star Adhir Kalyan.
He wanted to be an actor from a young age.
Just how did a young boy growing up in Durban South Africa catch the acting bug? Like many actors who have been lucky enough to make it in this business we affectionally refer to as show, Adhir Kalyan can trace the genesis of his career back to an overactive imagination. “Around the age of nine of ten I went through a stage where I wanted to become everything I saw and whether it was a tennis player, fireman, police officer, or doctor, I soon realized that the only profession where I could be every other profession was to become an actor,” said Kalyan on a recent one-on-one with the TV Addict. “And really, from that age I kind of felt that this was what my calling and what I really wanted to purse in my life and I have been very fortunate to be able to stand here today and tell you that to a certain degree I’ve been able to do that. I feel very grateful in that regard.”
He credits the CW for putting him on the map.
Despite the fact that blaming the CW for cancelling many of our favorite shows (see: EVERWOOD, VERONICA MARS, LIFE UNEXPECTED to name a few) is akin to a national pastime here at theTVaddict.com, Kalyan has a soft spot for the network that stuck by the short-lived brilliant-but-canceled laugher that was ALIENS IN AMERICA. “If it were not for the CW, ALIENS IN AMERICAN would really never have made it to air. After being shelved by NBC Universal, it was the CW that really believed that the show had a life in it,” explained Kalyan. “It will always have a dear place in my heart having afforded me such a wealth of opportunity that I can’t be disheartened that it only lasted one season. As an actor, perhaps you have a definitive moment where things change, and me being cast in the show was one of those moments. ”
DOCTOR WHO Taps Into Its Inner Shakespeare
As the British time-traveling adventure series DOCTOR WHO returned last weekend with the debut of its new season, it both surprised and shocked viewers. Channeling the Bard himself, it wove a tightly woven tale of comedy and tragedy. Within the first few minutes, it reintroduced its principal characters as they were happily scattered throughout time and space, then cleverly brought them together for a seemingly idyllic picnic beside a desert lake. But, as a space-suit clad astronaut rose out of the calm waters, the illusion of peace was shattered in an instant: The Doctor was shot and killed before our eyes. As any true fan knows, The Doctor cannot die; he simply regenerates. But, in a twist that felt simultaneously gut-wrenching and heart-breaking, we watched in horror as The Doctor futilely tried to regenerate – and with the echo of another bullet, our hearts shattered into a thousand pieces. Could this truly be the end of an icon that has graced television screens for nearly half a century? What in the world was Steven Moffat thinking to dream up a scenario where The Doctor dies?

First Look: Julianne Moore can See Russia From Her House!
Move over Tina Fey, there’s a new Sarah Palin impersonator in [Tinsel] town. Her name, Julianne More (pictured above, right). And if this first look photo is any indication, she’s got America’s most famous hockey mom’s mannerisms down pat. Which, in case you were wondering, certainly bodes well for director Jay Roach, who coincidentally enough begins shooting HBO’s GAME CHANGE, based on the bestselling account of the historic 2008 presidential campaign, today.
