We Irresponsibly Speculate as to Who Won’t Make it Out of Thursday’s VAMPIRE DIARIES Season Finale Alive!

Earlier today, TVGuide.com posted an interesting article highlighting 11 promising pilots that may-or-may-not make it to air. Among them was the CW’s SECRET CIRCLE, a new series based on the popular book series of the same name that revolves around a young girl (LUX’s Britt Robertson), who after losing her mother moves to a new town and discovers that she is a witch.

According to TVGuide.com, the series, which is executive produced by THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Kevin Williamson, “has the same dreamy atmospherics as that show over in Mystic Falls, but has the advantage of just one brand of supernatural being.” According to us, it spells doom for Bonnie (Kat Graham) during what is sure to be one helluva bloody VAMPIRE DIARIES season finale this Thursday.

Not only is Bonnie in a relationship with Jeremy, who through no fault of his own has a history of falling for girls who quickly end up six feet under (See: Anna and Vicky), SECRET CIRCLE — which by all accounts is a virtual lock to join the CW Network this Fall — is all about those spellbinding witches. And what better way to ensure fans of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES don’t find themselves saying “been there done that” at say 9PM on Thursday? By quietly suggesting that writers Williamson and Julie Plec tone down that particularly aspect of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES by having Bonnie die a hero while saving the life of her best friend Elena. Agree, disagree, post away.

That makes sense but the cynic in me wants to think that TPTB want to keep a little diversity on the show. She’s the only person of color (other than a few witches who’ve come and gone quickly). That has to count for something. I really would hate to lose her! But then I can’t think of anyone but Matt who I think is dispensable.

I hope so. Bonnie and all the other witches have disappointed me greately with their powers. I mean, there’s not much that she does. She makes stuff fly around, candles go on and once in a while someone’s head hurts. The Halliwells would cringe at that sight. But considering she was already ought dead a couple of weeks ago, I highly doubt it.
