Continuing to take much of the suspense out of next week’s Network UpFronts in New York City comes the news that NBC has given early season orders to four high profile pilots including the Steven Spielberg produced wannabe-GLEE musical SMASH, an Americanized version of the UK hit PRIME SUSPECT starring Maria Bello, a single-camera comedy from PARKS AND RECREATION scribe Emily Spivey entitled UP ALL NIGHT that revolves around a working mother (Christina Applegate) and a stay-at-home husband (Will Arnett), and WHITNEY a tradition multicamera comedy starring stand-up Whitney Cummings.
Not so lucky, at least in terms of early pickups, are WONDER WOMAN, 17th PRECINCT, REM and PLAYBOY, all of which will reportedly have to wait until tomorrow to find out their fate. Stay tuned…
