Chuck on Friday….guess that was expected.

I can’t believe they aren’t getting The Voice on in the fall. I guess maybe they don’t want to kill it by airing too often. Also sucks that 30 Rock is being held til midseason, but I’m glad Parks and Rec is on in the fall.

I thought they would change it around more than this, but it looks like a decent enough schedule. I can’t believe they put a new scripted show on Friday, though.

  • Indeed. It’s always cute how the networks start off each new season by pretending to not give up Friday… until November when 20/20 and Dateline get supersized or repeats of CSI suddenly start to pop up!

  •  Well, I can’t say I’m too surprised about Chuck’s new timeslot.

But I am very much surprised about 30 Rock: WHAT THE WHAT? You tell me, I have to wait until January 2012 to follow Liz Lemon’s adventures again? Blurgh!

    I can’t believe they moved Chuck to Friday’s.  That’s it I guess.

Anyone watch the previews yet? Up all Night and Free Agents look awesome…But god Whitney looks awful the clip i watched was cringe worthy and just plain bad comedy and  insult there is a horrible laugh track

  • As a Chuck watcher since the beginning, I am pleased to hear the fifth season, an abbreviated one at that, will be its last. They’ve had to resort to never-ending off-the-wall, unrealistic plots and twists to keep it going and to try and attract viewers – with limited success. That being said, it’s still a far better show than Lost, which I also watched (with huge regrets) from the beginning. It makes sense to move Chuck to Fridays as I suspect many of its viewers (like me) PVR it anyway because it conflicts with other, more popular Monday night shows.

Ironically, unless CBS or ABC come out with excellent shows for Friday at 8 pm, this will be the first season I could watch Chuck live and not have to PVR it due to limited (if any) competition in its new timeslot.

I think The Playboy Club looks promising, but could get old in a hurry – didn’t NBC try a show called Swingers or something a few seasons ago? Also, CBS tried Dr. Vegas and other similar shows over the last few years. One show I do NOT plan on even sampling is Grimm – oh my god the plot sounded so horrible I couldn’t even finish reading the synopsis. Anyone plan on stomaching that sorry-assed, sordid excuse for a television program!?

Prime Suspect – what can I say, another procedural-heavy crime fighting show with a little of drama thrown in in a lame attempt to keep it “interesting”.

More new comedies but overall, a very underwhelming schedule. I do not see this as the schedule where NBC breaks out. Perhaps that is new majority-owner Comcast’s strategy? Ratings and total viewers be damned – if the shows play well on PVR and across their multiple platforms, it doesn’t matter how they do on the main network.Cheers,Doug

Goodbye, Grimm. We hardly knew ye. I’m still looking for that Fables television show (the one with fairy tale characters in every day life) or is Grimm supposed to be that show?

  • Average Jane

Bummer about The Event. It was finally getting good.

  • Nick

Chuck better than Lost?  Are you mad?

Also, Chuck and Nikita fans will have a choice to make on Fridays, as well as Grimm and Supernatural fans.

My advice, of course, is to DVR the NBC shows.

I’m still in mourning for Precinct 17.  I might have loved you, but now I’ll never have a chance.

And seriously, can’t we get rid of a few of these ‘talent’ reality shows?

  • I watched Lost only because I’d invested so much time in it. The writing was abysmal – convoluted plots, twists and stuff that didn’t make sense. Some of the acting was okay (Josh Holloway and Evangelline Lilly were some of the good ones) but then Michael Emerson and Matthew Fox were horrible. Chuck is not a great show but is waaaaaay better than Lost. Shit My Dad Says was better than Lost.

    Cheers,
    Doug
