Is this the End of the Road for SUPERNATURAL, ONE TREE HILL and GOSSIP GIRL? CW President Mark Pedowitz Answers All!
SUPERNATURAL
For those fans worried that this upcoming seventh season might mark the end of the road for your beloved Winchester Bros. well, you can stop worrying now. “It’s not intended to be the last season,” said newly-minted CW President Mark Pedowitz during this morning’s executive session from the 2011 Television Critics Press Tour at the Beverly Hilton. “We’ll see where the ratings go. We hope the show keeps going.” Adding, when asked what he credits the longevity of the show too, “the love between two brothers, two really good looking guys that transcend the supernatural elements at the end of the day.”
ONE TREE HILL
For those fans worried that this upcoming ninth (!) season really will mark the end of the road for the town that responsibility parenting forgot, well, we’ve got some bad news for you. “At this point, it’s the final 13,” said Pedowitz. “Again you never want to say never, because you don’t know what happens, but n our conversations with [creator] Mark Schwahn we have said it’s the final 13.”
It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s…
… not Superman. That said, fans of the superhero genre will be happy to learn that the network — thanks to their parent company (Time Warner’s) ownership of DC Comics is actively looking to a superhero series next season, if the right superhero comes to be. Cooler still, Pedowitz was quick to point out that Tom Welling would be welcome back into the fold with open arms should he ever wish to return to series television. [Read more…]

Big Shakeups! Ted Danson’s Arrival! Marg Helgenberger’s Exit! 5 Things We Learned From CSI’s TCA Panel
Ted Danson isn’t doing CSI for the money!
Unlike many actors, whose poor financial wheelings and dealings have forced them to return to Network Primetime (Or worse, a cable reality TV series), Danson’s return to CSI has absolutely nothing to do with the dinero. In fact, not only did he jokingly point out that he can trace his interest in the environment over his guilt from his CHEERS money, he just really just loves this job. “I love going to work I’m so happy to hang with this cast of people and I love going to work,” said Danson when asked to elaborate on his motivation for returning to a Network television drama. “The crew is brilliant, the writing is wonderful and to be able to step into this world is a joy and I’m so blessed.”
Danson’s character is a breath of fresh air
“12 seasons is a lot of seasons for any show and we really started with asking how do we excited our writers and cast,” explain Carol Mendelsohn on why Ted Danson. “From CSI’s very beginnings it was, here comes the nerd squad, but what about someone who has come in who has actually figured it out. A wife that calls, kids that are an important part of his life, what would that be like?” Elaborated co-executive producer Don McGill, “CSI is this team of superstars, passionate about what we do, about justice and getting to the truth but passion can sometimes lead you astray and what is interesting, is that Ted’s character is this guy who grew up with counter-culture parents on a commune, travelled around in a van, he wasn’t just home schooled he was van schooled. Which gives him perspective on life that maybe is a little bit different.” [Read more…]

Snappy Answers to Silly Questions with DEGRASSI Star Aislinn Paul
Just how cool is DEGRASSI star Aislinn Paul? Not only was she kind enough to sit down for an exclusive one-on-one interview earlier in the summer, she was game for a new feature we like to call, “Snappy answers to silly questions.”
The TV Addict: Which cast member is most likely to crack up during a scene?
Aislinn Paul: I’d like to say that I’m pretty good at holding it together but Melinda [Shankar] and I are always cracking up during scenes. We were just shooting a scene this morning and we had a laughing fit, it was pretty fun.
When you’re not shooting, which cast member is most likely to be checking their phones, twittering, texting and what have you?
Aislinn Paul: Melinda is great at her social networking but I’d say Munro [Chambers] is probably on his phone the most, he’s always texting people.
Which cast member is most like their character?
Aislinn Paul: I think Luke [Bilyk] is a lot like Drew, I do! They’re both into sports, not that much into school and pretty into girls too! But as you saw in the premiere, Drew made the ultimate sacrifice for love, and I think Luke is like that as well, he will sacrifice anything for people he loves. [Read more…]
