While Thanksgiving is an American holiday and perhaps not celebrated globally, this seemed like an opportune time to give a warm shout-out to 10 television shows for which I am thankful this year.
One caveat, with the Year End 2011 Top 10 lists about to be unleashed from every corner of the TV blog-o-sphere which will trumpet and laud TV shows that are proclaimed to be the best-of-the-best, these are just a some of shows that consistently bring a smile to my face and make me glad that they created these glorious fictional worlds for us to enjoy. Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Things Soap Fans Can Be Grateful For This Thanksgiving
Let’s face it. 2011 has not been a good year for fans of daytime drama, what with shows dropping like flies and even the promise of beloved shows moving to the Web is beginning to seem about as likely as THE EDGE OF NIGHT getting rebooted. But this being Thanksgiving and all, I’m going to try and think of five things that soap fans have to be grateful for. It won’t be easy, but… well, let’s give it a go, shall we?

Or at least that’s the number one piece of advice that tonight’s MODERN FAMILY guest star Josh Gad has for anyone wishing to follow in his illustrious footsteps magic foot.
“A few years out I was ready to give up and told my mom that I was going to go to law school because I was sick of being rejected,” said Gad. “And just as I’m thinking to myself — what Jewish mother doesn’t love the fact that their son wants to go to law school — she actually started crying and said to me that I’ve put in too much time and effort and she was right.
