After a thrilling first season finale left Terrence “T.K.” King’s (Mehcad Brooks) life hanging in the balance following a tragic attempt on his life, it’s safe to say that when NECESSARY ROUGHNESS returns for its much anticipated second season, Dr. Dani Santori (Golden Globe Nominee Callie Thorne) will have her hands full. “One of the decisions our team [Creators Elizabeth Kruger and Craig Shapiro] made in the off season was to focus more on the Hawks’ family,” explained NECESSARY ROUGHNESS EP Kevin Dowling during a recent set visit. “So T.K. has a lot more to do, we’re going to see a lot more of Nico [Scott Cohen], and we’ll finally meet the Hawks’ owner Marshall Pittman, played by Evan Handler who I believe is going to surprise a lot of people.” Not nearly surprising, is the show’s penchant for attracting high profile guest stars, which include the return of Terrell Owens, Amy Sedaris as a rival therapist and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS alum Gaius Charles as a wannabe Hawk. Explained Dowling, “One of the things we are doing this year is that we wanted to show a ‘combine,’ which is this incredibly guelling test of endurance prospective football players have to go before they get drafted and receive that $7 million check!” [Read more…]

ONCE UPON A TIME Star Lana Parrilla Makes The TV Addict An Offer We Couldn’t Refuse!
As regular visitor to theTVaddict.com can attest, the number of times we’ve shamelessly shared our celebrity photo ops has decreased dramatically over the years. (See: Here, here and here). And while we’d like to pretend that decision had a little something to do with keeping a professional distance from the industry we cover, it really boiled down the sad realization that it’s hard to not look like the “ugly duckling” when standing next to a genetically blessed make-up enhanced celebrity! That said, professional ethics and vanity pretty much went out the window this week when we were afforded the opportunity to sidle up next to the only Mayor who gives Toronto’s Rob Ford a good name*. Needless to say, ONCE UPON A TIME’s Lana Parrilla wasn’t just delightful**, but a good sport when it came to playing along with the little prop we just so happened to have conjured up!
* That reference is hilarious if you live in Canada.
** Hey Emmy Voters, that whole “Evil Queen” thing really is an act. How about keeping that in mind come nomination time!
