TCA 2012 Live Blog: A Farewell to FRINGE
4:40PM: With John Noble under the weather and Jasika Nicole busy shooting, FRINGE’s final Television Critics Association panel features Lance Reddick, Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson and Executive Producer J.H. Wyman. Kicking off the panel is a video thank-you from series co-creator J.J. Abrams, who wanted to take the opportunity to thank members of the media for their unbelievable support. “True to its name, FRINGE has always been a bit of an outside of the box series and the good thing about that is we can have these parties with every single viewer!”
4:41PM: According to EP J.H. Wyman, the idea behind last season’s 19th episode was always to serve as a test-balloon or back-door pilot of sorts for what would turn out to be FRINGE’s upcoming fifth and final season.
4:43PM: “In an odd way I’ve been given a rare gift because we knew going into the final season of DAWSON’s that we were ending and we know with FRINGE as well,” Josh Jackson says when asked to compare the endings of his popular shows. “I have plenty of actor friends that got caught short with surprise cancelations, so for us to collectively go into the final season is not bittersweet for me. All shows end and I’d rather have the ability for us to end well. I’m really looking forward to the process of putting it together, knowing we’re going to end and enjoy the ride off to the sunset.”
4:44PM: “It’s quite something seeing the joy these guys had in creating these fully realized alternate universe character and I’m certainly jealous of the process that they went through but on the flip side it’s nice to have a day off every once in a while,” jokes Jackson when asked about whether or not he missed out on playing another version of his character. Adds Anna Torv, “I loved it, it would have been nice to have the occasional day off, but the more engaged you are in what you’re doing, and the busier you are the more engaged you are. I certainly did not imagine I’d ever have the opportunity… [Interjects Jackson, “Play Leonard Nimoy!”].” [Read more…]

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Intel on AMERICAN IDOL, GLEE and FRINGE From Fox Head Honcho Kevin Reilly
It’s Official!
After weeks of speculation, Fox President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly kicked off his Television Critics Association Press Tour executive session by phoning a friend. Specifically, that of Mariah Carey, who couldn’t be on hand, but announced via speaker phone that she is officially on board as AMERICAN IDOL’s newest host. “Not being the only game in town [referring to NBC’s THE VOICE] we need to keep things fresh.” explained Reilly of IDOL’s Paula Abdul Jennifer Lopez replacement. “As her co-manager, Randy [Jackson] has worked with her [Carey] for many years and was instrumental in this deal.”
GLEE 2.0
Who’s in?! Who’s out?! How worried should Gleeks be for their favorite McKinley High students based on all the question marks surrounding the fourth season status of the cast? Not the least bit according to Reilly who reported to be very happy with how seamless the transition is. “I think it’s going to be a breath of fresh air,” said Reilly, who has already gotten a gander at the season’s first three scripts that splits the show’s time between Ohio and New York. “Because we have a good relationship with all of the actors, part of the fun is who is going to show up when. We’ll have a core of returning actors, some newer ones, and then deals with actors who will be joining the show throughout the season. Holidays, reunions, I think it’s going to be fun to see who will show up when.” [Read more…]
Eddie McClintock and Saul Rubinek Preview Season 4 of WAREHOUSE 13

In a recent press conference call, co-stars Eddie McClintock and Saul Rubinek shared their candid thoughts on what is next for the 4th season. [Read more…]

Tony Denison Discusses Closing the Book on THE CLOSER and What’s Next for Detective Lt. Andy Flynn on MAJOR CRIMES
As the end of the TNT drama series THE CLOSER wraps up, it is a privilege to talk with co-star Tony Denison about all the fun he has had working on the series and his hopes for his continuing role in the spin-off series MAJOR CRIMES. Playing Detective Andy Flynn, who is frequently embroiled in the comedic misadventures of his partner Provenza (G.W. Bailey), Tony has had the pleasure of portraying all different facets of such a complex and intriguing role. While THE CLOSER has been cautious about delving into the personal lives of its characters, when it does, it always surprises us in ways we never thought possible. THE CLOSER has delivered stellar drama over its seven year run and as it is building towards its climatic finale, each character is caught up in the maelstrom of a department leak that has haunted them all both in their personal and professional worlds. Tony teased a bit of the ramifications of that devastating storyline and what lies ahead as THE CLOSER launches the new series MAJOR CRIMES. [Read more…]
