Mid-Season TV Preview: DO NO HARM
Dr. Jason Cole (Steven Pasquale) has a terrible secret: he’s living two lives. By day, he is a world-renown neurosurgeon; by night, he is a wandering sociopath looking for ways to destroy all that he loves. But it is not his fault. Diagnosed with split personality disorder, Jason’s life is consumed with keeping his alter-ego Ian Price at bay.
In a modern Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde tale, DO NO HARM takes viewers into a world where one may is desperately trying to find a way to escape his deep, dark curse. Successfully having kept his alt-persona buried for the past 5 years, time has run out as the serum used to keep Ian slumbering has begun to fade. Ian has built up a tolerance to the medication and it will no longer keep him chained inside. So at the stroke of 8:25 each night, Dr. Jason Cole becomes someone else entirely – his worst nightmare. Mid-Season TV Preview: Why You’ll Be Rooting For Russian Spies on FX’s THE AMERICANS
Combining the crazy idea of “your neighbors next door could be spies” with the actual “cold war” in which the U.S. found itself in the early 1980’s, FX offers the new drama series THE AMERICANS. Starring Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as KGB “sleeper” agents who have been posing as a happily married couple with two kids for the past 10 years, the difficult part watching the show will be to remember that they are not the good-guys. But try as you might, THE AMERICANS is going to get you rooting for Russell and Rhys’ characters before you know it. Portraying Elizabeth and Philip Jennings, they look like the average couple-next-door. Yet, as will soon be apparent, they are not. For one, they have a kidnapped man in the trunk of their car.
