Heroes are carefully crafted from the brutal sands of time, and in the CW series ARROW, Oliver Queen was forged by five harsh years trying to survive on an island hunted and tormented by oppressors at every turn. It steeled his resolve to return home and eradicate the evil festering in his home city so that those he loved would be free of such fear and domination. Fortunately for Oliver, he has a few key friends and family watching his back along the way. During December’s WB Mondo International Press Tour, one such friend, actor Katie Cassidy — who plays Oliver’s former-flame turned confidante Laurel Lance — shared insights into her character’s increasingly complex relationships, a few teasers about the potential of transitioning into Black Canary, and what TV Shows she’s addicted to on DVD. CASTLE First Look: “Hunt”
Can’t wait until Castle comes face-to-face with mysterious and hereto unforeseen father? Never fear, theTVaddict.com is here… Here that is with your first look at CASTLE’s February 25th episode ominously titled “Hunt.” Taking place during what ABC is calling “the powerful conclusion of a two-episode story arc,” Castle’s search — which presumably kicks off during the preceding February 18th episode involving a plot to kidnap a wealthy Middle Eastern businessman’s daughter — reunites him with his father played by none other than James Brolin. More first look photos of which have been handily posted after the jump. [Read more…]
The Business of Show: A Closer Look at How CBS Promoted Their Network to a Super Bowl-Sized Audience
By: BigTVFan
It’s always interesting to me how networks use those few major live events each year to highlight their shows. I’m talking about The Oscars, The Olympics, and the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is the highest rated program on Television by a landslide. In this era of diminishing ratings, live sporting events are the only thing to still attract big crowds as they are completely DVR proof. The Super Bowl is the Big Kahuna of, well everything, and while everything else on TV has trended down, The Super Bowl has continued to grow with almost 90 million more viewers than the highest rated current TV shows. With an event like this, it’s a huge opportunity to run heightened or special or even cleverer than normal promos for your shows as it’s a chance to showcase them to people who have never seen (or even heard of) them. It’s a reach like no other. [Read more…]
Tim DeKay Dissects Directing WHITE COLLAR and Peter/Neal’s Never-ending Trust Issues
The USA Network drama series WHITE COLLAR constantly asks the question of: whether an FBI agent and a con man can ever truly be friends? Time and time again, Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) and Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) have proven that they can. But the issue of trust between them remains the last wrinkle in their relationship. Will they ever be able to get past the fact that they hide secrets from each other? Given the shifting sands of alliances and the simple desire to protect each other, there will always be secrets. Yet despite that thread of distrust, Peter and Neal remain strong friends through it all. That remarkable friendship has been the secret ingredient of WHITE COLLAR from the first episode. In a recent press conference call, star Tim DeKay talked about this week’s new episode “Empire City” and the challenges of directing his illustrious co-stars and the joys inherent in bringing a directorial vision to the show.
