Are Unruly Movie Theatres Turning Us Into Even Bigger TV Addicts?
While theatre etiquette isn’t exactly a topic that falls within theTVaddict.com’s usual bailiwick, a series of unfortunate events has inspired our west coast correspondent Tiffany Vogt to voice her displeasure about recent movie-going experiences. Experiences that this TV Addict believes are not only ruining an increasingly costly night spent at the cinema, but continue to contribute to our willingness to stay home and enjoy all forms of entertainment in the comfort of our own home.

It started with teenagers wanting to share their reactions during movies with friends via texting or Facebook updates. Then a curious thing happened, adults embraced the immediacy of cellphone communication as well, which allowed them to keep tabs on their unsupervised children left at home or to keep in touch with spouses and business associates while attending movies. An entire subculture of people cropped up overnight that were so addicted to communicating via text, email, Facebook/Twitter that they could not bear to turn off their phone – even while watching a movie. We Shine the Spotlight on LONGMIRE’s Bad Boy Bailey Chase
When we first met Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) in LONGMIRE, we were certain he was the squeaky-clean, good-boy hero of the story. Since then things took an interesting turn, Branch surprised us all by showing signs of dabbling in the darker side of life. He showed more political ambition and drive than anyone gave him credit for and that began to complicate the world of LONGMIRE. Then as if dating the sheriff’s daughter behind Walt’s back was not enough to make us wonder about his intentions, taking political bribes certainly caught our attention. That bad-boy side was starting to shine through.
In a recent exclusive interview, star Bailey Chase shared a few thoughts on his character’s emerging duality and why he hopes fans will stand by Branch as the election controversy plays out this season. [Read more…]

MODERN FAMILY! VERONICA MARS! HAPPY ENDINGS! GENERAL HOSPITAL! UNDER THE DOME! The TV Addict Week in Rewind
Most Shameful Statement: Asked if MODERN FAMILY’s Cam and Mitchell might get married in the wake of this week’s supreme court decision, co-creator Christopher Lloyd told Entertainment Weekly that they “didn’t want to make a political statement.” Yes, God forbid a show that has helped show a gay couple in a loving — if almost completely asexual — relationship allow the characters to embrace this historic moment.
Biggest Hypocrites: In dropping scandal-plagued Paula Deen from their line-up, the folks at QVC said this wasn’t a “forever decision” and that people deserve second chances. In other words, they’re trying to figure out when the public will decide that their desire for butter-based recipes outweighs her being a racist.
Coolest Celebration: To mark THE PRICE IS RIGHT’s 30th anniversary, the show taped an all-Plinko episode this week. And if you don’t know what Plinko is, we can no longer be friends.
Best Crossover: THE O.C.’s Seth and GOSSIP GIRL’s Blair are dating? World’s colliding! World’s colliding! [Read more…]
